COASTAL POLLUTION TOOLBOX
Updated 27 days ago
The Coastal Pollution Toolbox is an affiliated project of Future Earth Coasts, a Global Research Network under the Future Earth global research, innovation and sustainability network...
The UN-Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development aims at improving the environmental status of the oceans. SDG #14 specifically addresses the conservation and sustainable use of oceans, seas and marine resources. It targets to prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds by 2025, in particular from land-based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution. Therefore, the Coastal Pollution Toolbox sustainably seeks to support the implementation of several UN SDGs and dissolve the tension that exists between areas of the SDG implementation process. The toolbox emphasises the interactions between SDG #14 and SDG #13 ("climate action"), SDG #7 ("ubiquitous, affordable, reliable clean and modern energy"), and SDG #11 ("sustainable cities and communities").
