Basic science and clinical trials in cardiovascular medicine have, over the course of the past decades, primarily been focused on identifying common factors that contribute to cardiovascular disease. But, the treatments developed are often common to all types of the disease. Our initiative is to diverge from this approach of patient care and to develop more individualized care based on the underlying cause of their individual cardiovascular disease.
