Gemma Kemp

Gemma has 16 years of dance experience across Tap, Jazz, Ballet and Contemporary. Gemma has completed her RAD ballet exams, NZAMD contemporary, American tap and jazz syllabus as well as achieving her solo seal in jazz, tap and contemporary. Gemma has extensive competition experience, competing nationally and internationally as well as choreographing competition pieces for her students. Gemma was associated with the New Zealand School of Dance's Aspirational program; first as a ballet scholar and then as a contemporary major in their Associate Program. Gemma is NZAMD registered; her students sit their annual exams in September across Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary. Gemma is also registered with PBT (Progressing Ballet Technique)

Zita Kemp

Zita has 40+ years dance experience across ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, Latin and Ballroom dancing. She is originally from South Africa, where she trained with Yvonne Brydon & Alison Rosso, completing her RAD ballet exams, AIDT Modern and Tap exams, whilst competing at several festivals and national competition events. At the age of 20 she started to train in Ballroom and Latin competing professionally for many, many years. At the age of 30, she was presented an opportunity to get back into tap, re-sitting her major exams following the new AIDT Tap syllabus. She completed her last exams whilst 6-months pregnant with her youngest daughter. She owned and operated her own dance studio in South Africa for many years. Moving to New Zealand in 2009, she continued her passion and investment in dance. Initially she freelanced, supporting competition students and various exam groups across ballet, jazz, contemporary and tap. Settling in the Hutt area in Wellington, she became involved with the Associated Ballet & Theatre Club, accepting the role as president in 2016. In 2021 Zita registered DANCE TECH ACADEMY - the studio's goal is to support passionate dancers, by focusing on strong foundational dance technique. The studio supports safe dance practices. Zita is NZAMD registered, students sit their annual exams in September [Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary]. Zita is a registered PBT [Progressing Ballet Technique] teacher.
