Angela Duncan

Angela has created and improved a district model embedding the National Board resources in Floyd County, KY. Angela is the Director of Human Resources for Floyd County Schools. Floyd County was a charter pilot district with the Kentucky Network to Transform Teaching (KyNT3) with the guidance and leadership of Angela serving as District Improvement Lead. She has experience using ATLAS in PLCs, and using the National Board resources across the continuum to build educator capacity with an emphasis on early career teachers, teacher leaders, administrators, and grade level PLCs.

Dr. Kate Grindon

Kate currently is the Director of Instruction at Southern High School in Jefferson County, a National Board Professional Learning School. Kate helped create many of the National Board resources, including the alignment document and facilitation guide for the Standard Studies. In addition, Kate is one of two Expert LDC Coaches in Kentucky. Kate has experience leading and designing candidate support for schools and districts in person and virtually. Kate embeds the National Board resources into professional learning at her school and in her work as an adjunct professor at the University of Louisville.

Lisa Clarke

Lisa is our liaison at the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS); she is the Director of Improvement at NBPTS. Through the Network to Transform Teaching (NT3), Lisa supported a national network of 10 states, 52 large school districts, and over 130 schools to innovate using the National Board resources to support professional learning. Lisa continues to support our work through a national improvement community. Trained in improvement science by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, Lisa is working to adapt this methodology for education systems. Prior to joining the National Board, she was a Teaching Ambassador Fellow at the U.S. Department of Education. Lisa was a high school social studies teacher in Kent, Washington, and Brooklyn, New York.

Robin Hebert

Job Titles:

Robin is the Director of Next Generation Professionals at the Kentucky Department of Education. Robin has served as a steering team member to innovate this project since 2015. Robin has embedded the National Board resources into professional learning at a state level, including Equity Labs, principal training, Peer-to-Peer Observation Training, and the Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy grant. Robin has experience in supporting districts and schools to improve systems of professional learning across the career continuum by building educator capacity beginning as early as rising educators (high school students) using the National Board resources.

Sarah Yost

Sarah has served as District Teacher Lead for National Board Professional Learning and Candidacy for secondary schools. She has led cohorts of teacher leaders that provided candidate support and embedded the National Board resources into professional learning, while teaching 8th grade English Language Arts. In 2017-18, Sarah served as the National Board Certified Teacher Advisor to our team, contributing to our decisions through the lens of a current classroom teacher. Sarah has expertise in designing professional learning using the National Board resources, including the Standard Studies and ATLAS, as well as candidate support.

Suzanne Farmer

Suzanne served as the Director of the Kentucky Network to Transform Teaching (KyNT3), the grant project that innovated using the National Board resources for professional learning, from 2014 to 2018. In that role, Suzanne was the liaison with national, state, and local partners including the National Board. Suzanne is the Assistant Principal of Hogsett Primary in the Danville Independent Schools, a National Board Professional Learning School. Suzanne has experience using the National Board resources across stakeholder groups and created the Standard Study documents.
