Rocky Mountain Middle School began its life as Bonneville High School and opened its doors to the public in 1957. After a new building was constructed for the high school in 1977 not far from it, the building became Bonneville North Junior High School. As the district and community continued to bud into a flourishing area of the state, an additional high school, junior high school, and elementary schools were built throughout the area. Eventually, Bonneville North Junior High was consolidated and transformed into a middle school becoming the Rocky Mountain we know it as today and took on the mascot of the purple and gold Panthers. Before the opening of Black Canyon Middle School, we served over 1,100 students across three buildings on our campus... With the opening of a third middle school, Rocky Mountain Middle School now serves roughly 600 students between grades 7 and 8, and students attending Rocky Mountain typically feed into Bonneville High School.
