Christel graduated as an engineer and holds a Master in Nuclear Medicine. She started her career as a Life Science Specialist in a multinational Biopharma company. There, she noticed she missed the connection with the medical field. Passionate about medical devices and clinical aspects, Christel will be our first Application Specialist at XEOS. In her spare time, Christel is an athletics youth trainer. She also enjoys swimming, cycling, and running herself, as she is part of a triathlon club.

As a newly graduated Civil Engineer, Eva decided to broaden her horizon far beyond engineering by obtaining a master in General Management at Vlerick Business School. This additional master sparked her passion in Supply Chain, which led her to pursue a fast-paced career in Supply Chain Consulting.

Gert Van Hoey

Gert holds a Master in Electronics Engineering and obtained a PhD on the topic of EEG signal processing in epilepsy, from Ghent University in 2000. He has a passion for medical image processing and visualization and for turning theoretical knowledge into efficient and accurate software. He built his expertise working in research and software engineering roles for more than 20 years, the larger part of which at Barco Healthcare. Gert is applying all his knowledge to develop top-quality products that allow Xeos to improve medical care for patients.

Guillem Vela

Guillem holds a Bachelor in Biomedical Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (Spain) and a Diplôme d'Ingénieur in IT at the Rennes Superior School of Engineers, as well as a Masters in Signal and Imaging at the University of Rennes (France). Passionate about medical devices, he has driven his career towards medical imaging, participating in different academic and privately funded projects. He previously worked in Barco Healthcare, focusing on dermatological imaging. Guillem is now passionately contributing to the software which will change the future of intraoperative specimen imaging.

Jared Moore

Jared holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and a Masters and PhD in Optical Sciences from the University of Arizona. His PhD focused on x-ray CT imaging and Image Quality. Jared brings world-class knowledge and expertise of x-ray CT systems, from the ground up. CT Imaging and reconstruction holds no secrets for him. He started as a research scientist developing pre-clinical CT scanners, later working on scanners for security and threat detection at Safran, followed by a career at Hologic Faxitron, developing a CT imager for intraoperative specimen imaging.

Leen Van de Sande

Leen holds a Master in Biomedical Science, with a major in radiation sciences. Her Master's thesis dealt with the dose and image quality of a dose reduction tool for CT imaging. She obtained a Ph.D in the field of cancer research, where she gained extensive knowledge in the field of surgical oncology. Her curiosity for innovative oncological surgery led her to focus on the development and coordination of clinical studies. By working at Xeos, Leen wants to further improve surgical cancer treatment and bring oncological surgery to the next level. Driven by a passion for pioneering advancements in surgery, Leen has dedicated her career to the planning and execution of clinical research initiatives. At XEOS, Leen is committed to elevating the standard of surgical treatment and pushing the boundaries of surgery to new heights. With a PhD in the field of cancer research, Leen boasts a profound expertise in surgical oncology, acquired through extensive academic and practical experience. Furthermore, she holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Science with a specialization in radiation sciences. Her Master's thesis centered on optimizing dose reduction techniques for CT imaging, underscoring her dedication to enhancing medical practices.

Leendert Santens

Leendert is a multidisciplinary engineer with a broad range of interests. He holds a Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, a Bachelor in Electromechanical Engineering and a Master in Management from the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium). Leendert began his career in management consulting, with a primary focus on the Life Sciences & Healthcare industry. He advised both local SME clients as well as large international & global clients, on strategic risk management, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, IT quality & compliance, IT governance, test management and computer system validation. Thereafter, he has also gained valuable industry experience in sustainability and renewable energy engineering. Through his diverse background and experience, Leendert has developed strong project management and problem-solving skills, along with a strategic mindset, enabling him to drive success in his current role. In his spare time, Leendert endeavors to stay up to date on the latest fascinating developments in the renewable energy and medical technology industries. After obtaining a master's degree in mathematics, Louise started her Ph.D. concerning the optimization of ablation techniques for cardiac arrhythmias, where she could combine both of her passions: mathematics and biomedical science. During those years, she realized digital tools and technology would be a significant part of the future of medicine, to which she would be able to contribute as a clinical scientist. In her spare time, Louise can be found running or walking in nature with friends and family.

Luna Maris

Luna graduated as a Biomedical Engineer at Ghent University. She found her passion in machine learning, an exciting subfield of artificial intelligence in which computer algorithms learn from experience how to solve tasks. Through a variety of courses and projects, she became familiar with computer vision for medical images, such as mammograms, fundus photographs, prostate MRI and robotic surgery videos. At XEOS she will conduct research on how deep learning can bring image quality to another level, as well as facilitate image interpretation and guide image-based decision making

Petar Petrov

Passionate about combining marketing with healthcare, she has more than 10 years of working experience in large MedTech multinationals, both in Benelux and International roles. Philine loves to cooperate in a team with top medical professionals in an innovative and expanding healthcare company, like XEOS, to contribute to a better life for patients. As Clinical Marketing Manager Philine will shape the XEOS message to the medical community and bring them along for the ride!

Roel Van Holen - CEO, Founder

In the wake of his passion for technology, Roel founded MOLECUBES in 2015, producing and commercializing preclinical imaging scanners for the life sciences market. With a solid background in basic research he knows how to translate fundamental research into valuable and valued products. In his past role as CTO, he learned the ins and outs of product development, supply chain management and projectmanagement. In his active role as a CEO for 5 years, Roel learned how to run a small and quickly changing organization from an operational point of view, including all aspects, from financing the company to selling capital equipment. End of 2019, Roel founded his next start-up, XEOS Medical, with the goal of developing medical scanners for use in the operating theatre. Roel's track record is in medical image science. With a Master in Electronics and in Biomedical Engineering and a PhD in Engineering as a solid foundation, he is an expert in medical imaging technology. He maintains his expert position in this field by guiding research and teaching as Associate Professor at Ghent University.

Tom holds a Master in Energy Engineering and completed an additional Advanced Master in Health Technology at the University of Leuven. During an internship at imec, he contributed to research into the electromagnetic tracking of an ingestible smart pill, which triggered a profound interest into research and development of new and innovative health technologies. As electronics hardware engineer, Tom is eager to improve the current design of the AURA PET/CT scanner. His curious mindset drives him to explore and study all possibilities to make our product as qualitative as possible.
