the JCC is represented on the Local Content Committee in the Energy Sector and contributed to the development of the Local Content Policy for the energy sector... matters pursuant to training at all levels in the industry, in particular: 
the JCC took over the responsibility of the Industry Training Organisation (ITO) and is now the ITO for the construction industry. Under the auspices of the National Training Agency, the JCC makes recommendations on the standardisation of training for the various technical trades and crafts practiced within the industry in keeping with international trends and the JCC launched and managed the initiative to establish a Masters Degree Programme in Project Management at The University of the West Indies.
