Alex Morrison

Alex joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in January 2024 as our Policy and Research Officer. He previously worked at Scottish Environment LINK as an Advocacy Officer, where he advocated for new climate and nature friendly farming legislation and worked on the Farm for Scotland's Future Campaign. Alex has also volunteered with the RSPB Scotland across their policy and planning teams. Alex graduated with a Scots Law LLB degree from the University of Glasgow where he stayed and then went on to complete his MSc in Political Communication. He enjoys being active outdoors, having previously worked as a ski instructor and enjoys the mountains of Scotland for hiking and birdwatching.

Alexander Stevenson

Alexander joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in September 2022 as the new Environment and Place Services Officer, primarily working in the social housing sector with the Wheatley Group. His role takes him across central Scotland and beyond to assess the condition of housing properties and engage with the Wheatley Group and communities they support. Alexander graduated from the University of Stirling in 2012 with a BA Hons. in International Politics, continuing his studies to gain a Distinction in an MSc. in International Conflict and Cooperation in 2013. After graduating form University, he has worked in a variety of roles and sectors, having also been an active member of the Reserve Forces since 2017. Alexander enjoys an active, outdoor lifestyle and has a real appreciation of the physical and mental benefits it brings.

Amy Bentall

Amy is the Co-Founder & Co-Director of The Selkie Collective, a Eco/Refill Shop & Women's Community Collective on the Isle of Skye. Amy has a MSc in Wildlife Management & Conservation, and she always thought she would have a career involving wildlife somehow. Now her work is about reducing waste and consumption for the sake of the planet. She enjoys walking her dogs, visiting Scottish islands and wildlife watching with her family.

Andrea Gabriel

Andrea moved from Chile in 2008, where she graduated as Biologist and worked for many years in outdoor and environmental education. Before joining us Andrea held a number of roles in the private, education and third sectors, including working in and with schools, coordinating Raleigh International's local youth development programme in Chile, and directing an environmental and outdoor education non-for-profit organisation.

Barry Fisher - CEO

Barry has extensive experience in the youth sector. He joined us from the Duke of Edinburgh's Award, where latterly he held the role of Scotland Director. Prior to this Barry worked with the Ocean Youth Trust Scotland. The environment has always played a massive part in all his past employment roles as he sought to engage young people with activities dependent on clean, healthy environments. He has a BA Honours in management and tourism from the University of Glasgow/SRUC. Barry currently lives in Perthshire and is a Trustee of Remembering Srebrenica Scotland and St Fillan's Development Trust.

Brenna Anderson

Brenna joined the team with a varied background in hospitality, sustainable tourism, food security, and community-led agriculture. Brenna's focus is on tackling food waste, through community-led composting initiatives and close cooperation with the vibrant hospitality sector throughout the Highlands.

Brian Rae

Brian joined us in 2006. He has a committed approach to working in the environmental sector and has managed a variety of data streams for us - including LEAMS, coastal environmental quality data, trunk road service station quality audit data, and more recently data from bespoke Nudge behaviour change projects. Brian has built and managed data capture/querying/reporting systems for us, with efficiency and ease of use in mind, while allowing for complex hypothesis testing. Brian has developed and coordinated the LEAMS programme, working in partnership with all 32 local authorities, building and maintaining relationships as the needs for street cleanliness monitoring evolved. He has been involved in developing a standardised methodology for monitoring litter across Europe with the Clean Europe Network and is working with Zero Waste Scotland to develope a new Litter Monitoring System (LMS) Brian has an Honours Degree in Environmental Science, majoring in applied GIS.

Carrie Marling

Carrie joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in January 2017 as Assistant Survey Officer where she carried out local environmental quality surveys in all 32 of Scotland's local authority areas. In April 2018 Carrie became an LEQ Officer and provides environmental services and assessments for organisations in several different sectors. This includes assessing organisations for the National Award for Environmental Excellence®, auditing of housing associations and bespoke audits tailored to specific requirements.

Catherine holds a first-class degree in Business Studies and is carbon literate. Ciaran joined Keep Scotland Beautiful as Communications Officer in October 2022 after working for three years at a local newspaper in Alloa, covering everything from court and council to local events. He was also the newspaper's sole sports reporter, covering both men's and women's football and other sports.

Clare Sterritt

Clare comes into the role with experience working for a Scottish rewilding charity, a zero waste business manager and a PgDip on Net Zero Communities from The University of the Highlands and Islands. Prior to the role she spent some time in Sweden and Norway, gaining experience on sustainable land use practices and communities through volunteering and working. She is passionate about sustainable food systems, community development in the Highlands and Islands, and striving to be a part of building a fairer future for nature and people, while also enjoying as much time as possible having adventures in wild places.

Daniel Barrie

Daniel joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in May 2019 as Education and Learning Manager. He is responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of our Education and Learning activities, including our flagship Eco-Schools Scotland programme. Before joining us Daniel held a number of roles within local authority education services including class teacher, Depute Head Teacher , Head Teacher and Quality Improvement Officer. Daniel also spent time seconded to COSLA as school management advisor and was an Associate Inspector with HMIe/Education Scotland. Daniel has a B.Ed degree with teaching qualification and is registered with GTCS.

Ellie Campbell

Ellie has experience tackling food waste as part of a partnership project with Faith in Community Dundee and Dundee Community Food Network. Before working in the charity sector Ellie was a chef for many years in restaurants throughout the UK. She has also volunteered for The Trussell Trust, FoodCycle and Action Against Hunger.

Emma Bee

Her background is in art, with a BA Hons in Applied Arts. She has spent many years working and travelling abroad, now settling back on the Isle of Skye with her family. In Emma's spare time she enjoys growing food and trees on her croft, taking long walks and cold swims.

Emma Glencross

Emma is the Campaigns and Innovations Officer (Cup Movement), working on a variety of campaigns to minimise consumption, particularly focusing on reducing the use and waste of single-use cups. She joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2021 as a Project Officer in the COP26 Youth Climate Programme, delivering Climate Emergency Training to young people and youth workers throughout Scotland. Emma then moved to the Campaigns team, becoming Campaigns Officer for My Beach, Your Beach, working with programme partners and local communities to care for our beaches and bathing waters through protecting the sand and sea. Before joining #TeamKSB, Emma worked in a local high school's Autism Provision, working with young people to support their learning and their engagement with mainstream school, as well as encouraging outdoor learning. Prior to moving to Scotland in 2016, Emma spent 10 years undertaking environmental impact assessment for the Western Australian Department of Environment, investigating a range of marine, coastal and land-based development proposals. Emma has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Zoology and Botany from the University of Queensland (Australia) and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning from Griffith University (Australia).

Heather joined Keep Scotland Beautiful in 2017. She works on a range of projects in the Community Projects team Before coming to work with us Heather spent time with Aberdeen City Council on the recycling team helping with community engagement and education activities. She also volunteered as a community researcher for The Children's Hospice Association Scotland and with the Sedimentary Ecology Research Group on a range of studies. Heather has a BSc in Biology from The University of St Andrews, whilst at university she was part of climate change awareness group, community gardening workshops and worked with the local aquarium on animal training and enrichment.

Jo Henderson

Jo has previous experience as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician at Highland Forest Products until she moved to Golspie where she became Brown Owl in Brownies and loved the way they recycled and got creative as they had a very limited budget. She was given her first sewing machine and taught herself to sew, and quickly found her new passion. Jo had many requests to teach people to sew and eventually held her first sewing classes at LDLC and realized very quickly that she loved teaching. Jo joined LDLC in October 2018 as Social Enterprise Tutor, which was Funded By CCF and her love of recycling helped her find creative ways to use the donated items and materials. As a Project Officer for HCWP, Jo runs waste reduction classes and workshops in various disciplines and is also contributing to the development of resources. In Jo's spare time you'll also find her up a hill somewhere.

Laura previously worked with communities and individuals in a community development setting in the most deprived areas of Edinburgh. Her role was to engage hard to reach audiences and encourage and support residents to get involved in decision making around improvements to their local community, health and/or personal development. Laura currently manages a seasonal guest house on the Easter Ross Peninsular. She prides herself in using green/sustainable cleaning products, not providing single use plastics and encourages guests to recycle and contribute to home composting. Laura also enjoys making things out of materials which would otherwise go to landfill. Laura's role is to engage with Black Isle residents and provide information and waste reduction activities across the black Isle. Her aim is to encourage people to be more mindful of their waste, through learning and adopting new practical practices which will reduce their carbon footprint and save their household money.

Lesley joined LEG in April 2022 as HCWP Project Officer to encourage the residents and businesses of Lochaber to reduce their food waste and to manage unavoidable food waste by home composting and in-vessel composting.
