228 CONSULTING - Key Persons

Simon Murphy - Managing Director

Job Titles:
  • Managing Director
Simon has over 30 years' senior management experience gained with a variety of blue chip organisations. His early career was in banking, where he gained a thorough grounding in business finance, forecasting and budgeting. He was then headhunted by a customer to head up their export department, which he rapidly grew to a multi-million pound business with a client base covering Europe, the Middle East and Asia. He was then offered the role of Business Development Manager for the training division of a major global business, and there began a career-long passion for training people to succeed in business. For 18 years, Simon worked for a FTSE100 company, holding MD and CEO roles in divisions providing training, business support services and consulting. In all of these he was successful in achieving significant improvements in revenue and profitability, developing and introducing new products and creating strategies for market entry. Simon has set up 228 to provide practical and professional business advice to new and growing companies with the aim of helping them to succeed in achieving their objectives. "Simon has performed the Head of Operations role with great skill and reassuring calm. He has galvanised various teams, and he has played a very significant role in delivering major projects such as the £1.2m Training Centre on time and under budget, as well as other less glamourous, but hugely important, projects, such as improved roofing and the forthcoming electrical improvements. He has also been pivotal in ensuring that the organisation has been COVID-ready and COVID-organised."
