Katelyn Hailey

Katelyn discovered her passion for protecting the ocean while she was earning her master's degree at San Diego State University. She has worked in the nonprofit sector, fundraising, educating, and advocating for environmental issues, and has staffed members of the California legislature who were proven environmental champions.

Malte Niebelschuetz

Malte Niebelschuetz is the Founder & CEO of Shore Buddies (www.shore-buddies.com). Shore Buddies are stuffed animals made from recycled plastic bottles. In addition to the upcycling concept, Shore Buddies also donates to $1 with every purchase to a local, ocean-minded non-profit organization.

Roger Kube

Roger Kube, from Culpeper, VA, is the former Executive Committee Chair ('13-'14) and current Advisory Committee member of the Surfrider Foundation San Diego County. His passion for the ocean began as an adolescent, due to the numerous family vacations in the Outer Banks, NC. After spending nine years in Breckenridge and Boulder, CO, his desire to live on the coast led him to San Diego in 2001. He's been surfing, diving, open water swimming and enjoying our ocean and precious coastline ever since. Roger uses his experience, dedication and passion to empower and lead other activists to carry out Surfrider's mission, the protection and enjoyment of our oceans, waves and beaches. Professionally, he has enjoyed a successful fifteen year career as a mortgage consultant.
