New mobility options like Uber, Zip Car, Red Bike, E-Bikes, private transit start-ups and even increasing car ownership are reasons for declining ridership on transit. This contributes to declining revenue to operate transit. Sometimes, it even contributes to traffic congestion adding to the need to expand roads. Further more, none of these options provide revenue to support transit... While most transit works on the supply chain strategy, express bus routes provide some rather quick service as long as it's near your destination. You might call this a FedEx distribution strategy, rushing you to nearest distribution point to your destination. It still doesn't have an advantage though. That's because it's stuck in rush hour traffic, just like cars.
