Alejandra Almada and Kathryna Reiz of MAST Academy receive from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association a first place in design and a certificate of merit for story writing with their graphic narrative "Into Eternity".

Alejandra Almada, senior editor of Spilt Milk, MAST's literary magazine, and member of the Creative Writing class, moved on to the Scholastic Writing Awards' national competition after winning a Gold Key and a Special Award in Miami Writes and the Dade County Youth Fair.

It is my pleasure and honor to be teaching your children French levels 1, 2 & 3. Beginning my 6th year at MAST and just as thrilled as i was on my very first day ! The joy of being with our young boys and girls on a daily basis while introducing them a beautiful new language and culture is my reward. My name is Nicholas Charles Kontos. I was born in New York but grew up in Miami. I went to Coral Gables Senior High School and graduated in 1985. I then went to F.I.U. and graduated with a B.S. in Education in 1989. I started teaching Physical Education at Miami Edison Senior High School in August of 1989 and taught there until 2010. I then transferred to MAST Academy and have been here for 11 years so far. At MAST Academy besides being a PE teacher I am the Head Tennis Coach and Bible Club Sponsor.

Spilt Milk, the literary magazine of MAST, has been named a Silver Medalist by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association for its 2015-16 edition. The evaluator highlighted the writing and editing in the magazine, and stated that Spilt Milk has "a lot of potential".
This national award comes on top of a Silver from the Florida Scholastic Press Association and two Special Awards from the Dade County Youth Fair.
Richard Cooper teaches Algebra 2, Statistics Honors, and Precalculus at M.A.S.T. Academy. He was born in Bloomington, Indiana, but grew up in Central Texas and Western New York.
He taught previously at schools in Miami and Central Texas, as well as at International schools in Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia, and Paraguay.
Cooper holds advanced degrees from Baylor and Indiana Universities.
