Amit Patel - Managing Director

Amit has been a qualified solicitor for over a decade practicing at a range of companies, from top 500 legal firms to niche Solicitors' practices. He also brings with him real world business experience from a number of sectors and holds degrees in biomedical science, law, and employment law. Amit is committed to bringing this experience, along with previous charity work representing victims of human trafficking and slavery, into the commercial employment arena. Amit is an employment and discrimination specialist having been instructed on hundreds of discrimination and unfair dismissal claims over the last ten years. He is listed on the Human Trafficking & Modern Slavery Expert Directory, is regularly endorsed by Employment Judges and Barristers, and frequently receives instructions to act for other legal firms and solicitors. Amit still oversees every single case that comes through Atkinson Rose.

Christian Decle

Christian has a first class law degree and has been called to the Bar. Over the course of his extensive career he has held roles within the International Bar Association (developing projects around anti-corruption, whistleblowing and human rights), Middle Temple, The Old Bailey and One Pump Court - as well as volunteering at the River House Law Clinic, the Chelsea and Westminster Foundation Trust and FRU. Christian also spent many years working in house for British Airways advising on HR matters, interpreting regulations into policies and assisting with in house grievances and disciplinary matters. He was also a qualified mediator and in house "diversity champion" providing bullying and harassment advice on issues of diversity and policy setting.

Cressida Mawdesley-Thomas

Cressida completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Durham and has since been committed to social justice and reform. She has worked for the Hackney Community Law Centre, the Citizen's Advice Bureau, and was a team leader at Big Voice, involved in the drafting of a model Law Commission report. ​ Cressida has also been involved in Barristers' sets including 3PB and Old Square Chambers and has shadowed Baroness Helena Kennedy in the House of Lords. Her rounded experience includes having completed CISI FCA financial regulation exams, working within the financial industry and volunteer work with a mental health care provider, a residential care home and, attending the UN Conference of the Parties (COP15, COP18 and COP21).

Sat Gill

Sat brings over 20 years of professional employment and HR experience to the Atkinson Rose team and is our specialist on employee grievances and negotiating settlement agreements. Her extensive experience, as both in-house head of HR and as a consultant, spans a range of sectors including the NHS, professional services, insurance, media, beauty and technology. Sat is passionate about promoting industry best practise, employer obligations surrounding fair treatment, and managing and promoting positive employee relations in the workplace.
