CHRISTOPHER BRITTAIN - Founder

Chris is a construction commercial professional with circa 30 years of experience working for tier 1 UK construction contractors including Wates, ISG, Miller Construction (Galliford Try), Norwest Holst (Vinci) and Alfred McAlpine (Carillion). He has a solid commercial background having risen through the contractor Quantity Surveying ranks with his past 15 years operating successfully at Regional Commercial Director level and above. Over recent years Chris has successfully performed a Commercial Director role at national group centre level often requiring him to take on strategic leadership and the hands on direction over critical issues whether contentious (e.g. dispute resolution), non-contentious (e.g. large-scale £150m+ negotiations) or corporate (e.g. business acquisition / change / transformation). Chris's depth of knowledge, skills and experience in the construction and residential arenas have equipped him well to offer clients a wide range of corporate and operational commercial services.

Jeremy S. Hughes - Founder

Jeremy is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor with 30 years experience in quantity surveying and construction commercial management and regularly acts on behalf of main contractors, sub-contractors, employers and private individuals. Jeremy's career started with a trainee QS position with a main contractor in the mid 1980's. He progressed through the ranks and by the time he moved into consultancy work in the mid 90's was specialising in the resolution of problematic contracts. After his move to an international consultancy in the mid 90's he gained experience in heavy civil engineering, pipelines, process engineering, roads and bridges as well as rail contracts. Prior to joining Vanguard Jeremy had traded in his own right, and as a Director of several construction based companies. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, with degrees in Quantity Surveying and Law as well as being an RICS accredited expert witness and holds an RICS accredited Diploma in Construction Adjudication. He regularly acts as party representative in Adjudication proceedings and expert advisor in legal and other proceedings.

PATRICK HOMER - Founder

Working with various tier one national and international contractors including Bouygues, ISG, Miller Construction (Galliford Try) and Laing, Patrick has over 28 years experience in the construction industry. Progressing through various operational roles he has served in Operations and Regional Director positions, leading large teams and covering a wide spectrum of scheme values, contract forms and sectors. With an initial background in planning he has acquired strong leadership and negotiation skills. Patrick has been instrumental in various transformational change programmes and business acquisitions and prides himself in operational delivery. His unequivocal focus on programme delivery, supported by his design management expertise equips him with the knowledge and skills to support our clients with multi-disciplinary construction services. Throughout his career Patrick has successfully lead regional teams and supported clients through many challenging, complex schemes offering sensible solutions leading to dependable results.
