James Hedges - CFO

James is an Chartered Accountant who has been involved with a wide variety of technology businesses. He was Finance Director of an AIM listed telematics Group for 12 years during which time it grew tenfold and completed five acquisitions. He has also been a Director of a company developing an underwater autonomous vehicle for the oil and defence markets. He is an engineering graduate and has over 30 years experience in raising debt and equity finance for both private and public companies.

Mark Francis

Mark is a co-founder of PTEC. His knowledge of developing and financing growth companies and infrastructure projects, particularly in the cleantech industry, sparked his interest in what became PTEC. His intellectual and investment stake in the industry has grown with his experience in other advisory, development and finance roles. Mark's extensive tidal energy experience now covers technology development, project development and multiple fundraising activities including equity, grants and debt. This expertise is now in much demand across the whole industry.

Rachel Wild


Rob Stevens - Chairman

Rob is a proven, well respected Chairman with a wealth of experience across the whole maritime sector. He has a passion for the tidal stream energy sector as a potential corner stone of the UK's excellence in renewable energy. His particular expertise lies in the Solent region, where, as the author of the 2012 government study ‘Transforming Solent Marine and Maritime supplement' he understands all the drivers necessary to improve growth in the region and the role of modern composites in marine manufacturing. He also owns his own small successful consultancy, Stevens Marine Ltd, utilising his experience as CEO of the British Marine and the world-famous London and Southampton Boat Shows. Rob served in the Royal Navy for more than 30 years, reaching the rank of Rear Admiral and Head of the British Submarine Service. He later became Chief of Staff in Naples, responsible for NATO Maritime Operations in the Mediterranean between 2001 and 2005.
