Amanda Smith

Amanda has a wealth of legal knowledge having worked in Law Firms since leaving School. She is a sound and reliable administrative support for Stephen Warburton. Amanda is the first point of contact for clients and is always willing to help, support and deal with any enquiries. She regularly liaises with the Courts and other solicitors and will ensure that your matter receives the attention it deserves and is progressed efficiently and promptly. Amanda originally joined mosshaselhurst in 1992 before leaving in 1998 to bring up her family. She returned to the Firm in 2011 and works in the Family Department. Amanda enjoys spending time with her family, socialising and keeping fit when she has spare time!

Emma Sezer

Emma has been with moss haselhurst Solicitors since June 2007. Emma started as a Legal Secretary and is now a Wills Executive in the Wills Department. Emma specialises in drafting and completing Wills, putting together and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney and completing Deputyships.

Gerard qualified as a Solicitor in 1980 before joining moss haselhurst Solicitors in 1982. He became a Partner in 1983 and Senior Partner of moss haselhurst Solicitors in 1998 and is now the Managing Director. If you need a determined and reliable Litigation/Employment Solicitor with over 40 years experience in Law then Gerard Rooney is the Solicitor for you. A former APIL Senior Litigator with an enviable reputation in the Courts and in employment work for Employers and Employees, Partnership, Property and Boundary Disputes and Debt Collection you will be impressed by his professional approach and empathy which can also assist where dispute resolution is required. Jane Stott

Jane joined the Firm in October 2019. She moved from Reception to the Residential Property Team in July 2022 as their full time Assistant. Jane welcomes new clients and provides detailed quotations tailored to their specific needs. She is always available to provide updates on matters and to answer any questions. Nothing is too much trouble. Outside of work Jane enjoys spending time with family and friends and enjoys walking her 3 dogs in the countryside. She also likes to help look after and re-home stray cats and kittens for her mum's local animal welfare charity.

Janet Bossons

Joanne Charles

Joanne is a Solicitor, Notary Public and Director of mosshaselhurst Solicitors. Joanne obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Bristol in 2000 - BA (Hons) in English Literature. In 2001 she passed her Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Chester College of Law with commendation, followed by her Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice in 2002 with distinction. Joanne qualified as a Solicitor in December 2004 and joined mosshaselhurst in July 2005. She became a partner in the firm in 2007. In 2010 Joanne obtained her Post Graduate Diploma in Notarial Practice from the University of Cambridge. She was granted her Notarial Faculty in 2013. In 2013 Joanne obtained a distinction in the STEP (Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners) Certificate in Trusts and Estates.

Karen Heard

Karen previously worked for many years within Education as a Family Support Worker, offering emotional and practical support to parents and families. Karen joined the Firm in May 2022 transferring her skills to her new role as Administrator/Receptionist being the first point of contact with the clients and visitors to the Firm. Outside of work Karen enjoys spending time with her family (especially her Grandchildren Ella and Theodore) and friends and walking her dog. She also is partial to a visit to the Theatre.

Kerry Greatorex

Kerry originally joined mosshaselhurst in 1986 leaving in 2003 to raise her family. She returned to the fold in 2016. Kerry has a wealth of legal experience and is Gerard Rooney's Assistant in the Litigation Department. She is highly organized and supportive and always available to answer any queries you may have. She will try to ensure that your matter is dealt with smoothly and promptly from beginning to end. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, walking her dog, reading and going to the gym.

Kyla Galloway-Wood

Kyla joined the Firm on 31st October 2022 as an Administrator for the Private Client Department. Kyla's background is mainly in hospitality which has taught her invaluable client relationship skills.

Melissa Hamilton

Pauline Eaves

Pauline has worked in Conveyancing for over 25 years and qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 2002. She then enrolled in the College of Law and undertook a two year part time course in order to qualify as a solicitor which she achieved in 2010. Pauline worked in Essex and Dorset for many years before moving to Cheshire in 2020. She has brought her wealth of experience and invaluable knowledge to mosshaselhurst where she is highly regarded as a safe pair of hands. In her spare time Pauline enjoys walking with her German Shepherd Dog (Stanley) together with eating out and travelling.

Rachel Gourlay

Rachel joined the firm in November 2019 as a Conveyancing Assistant. She transferred to the Criminal Department in January 2021. She has a sound knowledge of Legal Aid and will be able to answer any questions you may have. Rachel enjoys spending her spare time with her family and supporting her children in their sporting activities.

Rebecca obtained a First Class Honours degree in Law at the University of Manchester in 2010 and went on to receive a Distinction in her Legal Practice Course in 2011. Rebecca is a Solicitor in the Property Law Team and has experience dealing with many aspects of Residential Conveyancing including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, right to buy, transfers of equity and unregistered land. Outside of work Rebecca has a keen interest in horse riding, playing the piano, reading and attending the gym.

Stephen Sowah

Stephen obtained his LLB Hons from Lancaster University in 2008. Following a career in finance, Stephen moved back to Law in 2014. He worked in Residential Conveyancing based in and around Manchester City Centre from 2015. He qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2021. Stephen has vast experience handling various matters within Residential Conveyancing such as, but not limited to, acting for individuals, companies & small developers in the sale and purchase of property, land registrations and carrying out re-mortgages of single and multiple properties for individuals and companies alike. Stephen moved to Cheshire in 2022 with his young family. Away from work, he enjoys reading, gardening, spending time with his family, listening to music, watching films and cooking. He is a big fan of Basketball (in particular the Chicago Bulls) and he is also a lifelong Manchester United fan.

Stephen Warburton

Stephen qualified as a solicitor in 1996. He joined Mosshaselhurst in July 2021 after a successful career based in his native North Wales. Stephen is well known and respected in the Family Courts of North Wales and Cheshire. He has also appeared regularly in the local magistrates courts having been a duty solicitor in the criminal courts and local police stations for 20 years. He is approachable and understanding and he will provide sound and sensible legal advice in relation to issues following a relationship breakdown whether relating to divorce, finances, children, domestic violence or change of name. Outside of work Stephen supports Wrexham football club and has travelled extensively across the continent watching the Wales international football team. He is a football referee in his local area which fits well with his professional skills as a fair, well balanced and objective Solicitor and Advocate.

Sue Davis

Tony Birchall

Tony was admitted as a Solicitor in June 1981 and since that date has regularly practised in the criminal courts dealing with all types of criminal offences. He is an accredited duty solicitor for all police stations and magistrates courts in England and Wales. He was a motoring panel solicitor for both the AA and RAC until these panels were discontinued. 'At home' as an advocate in the Magistrates Court, Tony is a very pro-active Solicitor who will always go the 'extra mile' to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
