Under Alejandro's leadership, Abbott's pharmaceutical business in Latin America continues to bring high-quality, trusted and affordable medicines tailored to local markets. Alejandro earned his bachelor's degree in management from the University of San Andrés in Buenos Aires. He later earned an MBA from Cornell University in New York.

Andrea Wainer is Abbott's Executive Vice President, Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics. She was appointed to this role in June 2019.
Andrea joined Abbott in 1997 and served in a variety of roles within our pharmaceuticals business, including divisional vice president and general manager, renal care. She then led our Animal Health business, which was acquired by Zoetis in February 2015. Immediately prior to assuming her current responsibilities, Andrea served as Vice President, Molecular Diagnostics.
In her current role, Andrea leads two innovative businesses; one a leader in molecular diagnostics and the analysis of DNA and RNA at the molecular level; the other the world's leading provider of rapid point-of-care diagnostics. Each of these offers products that provide clinicians with actionable information that can contribute to better clinical, operational and economic outcomes.
Andrea earned her bachelor's degree in accounting from the John M. Olin School of Business, Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri, and her Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Fernando serves on the Executive Committee of the Medical Nutrition International Industry Association.

Since 2013, Hubert Allen has served as Abbott's Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Previously, he was Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Established Pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining Abbott in 2006 as Senior Counsel, supporting the company's Pharmaceutical Products Division, Mr. Allen was an Assistant General Counsel for McKesson Corporation. Mr. Allen has held various positions within Abbott's legal department, including Divisional Vice President and Associate General Counsel, Pharmaceutical Products Group; Section Head, Abbott Nutrition; and Division Counsel.
Today, he leads a diverse global organization dedicated to supporting Abbott's business all around the world.

Jared Watkin is Abbott's Executive Vice President, Diabetes Care.
Jared had served as Senior Vice President, Diabetes Care since 2015. Prior to assuming that role, he served as Divisional Vice President, Technical Operations.
Jared joined our company in 1996, when Abbott acquired Medisense, Inc. Since then, he's held a number of key positions in Abbott Diabetes Care, including Senior R&D Director and Divisional Vice President, Research and Development.
In what he describes as his "proudest Abbott moment," Jared led the team that developed our innovative Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System; and as he looks to the future, he's committed to "keeping Abbott Diabetes Care at the forefront of innovation, allowing us to provide better health, and a fuller life, to people with diabetes."
