Our goal at AKOYA is to have zero waste in our manufacturing process. All excess fabric from the manufacturing process is used in making small accessories such as scrunchies and in the design process making new samples. The profits from the sale of scrunchies are donated to The Ocean Clean Up whose goals include protecting and preserving our oceans, something close to Olivia Bickerstaffs heart... AKOYA only uses quality recycled materials predominantly supplied by Italian fabric supplier Carvico. Carvico manufactures its fabrics using the highest standards of production and has Global Recycled Standard (GRS) accreditation. It is important to AKOYA to know who its fabric supplier is.
