Jesse is a managing member of the firm focusing on bankruptcy and creditor's rights. Jesse is a Co-Manager and a Member of the firm focusing on bankruptcy and creditor's rights. Prior to his experience with the firm, Jesse worked both in large and mid-sized firms in Boston and focused his practice on complex Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings representing primarily debtors, creditor's committees and trustees. He also served a two-year appointment as a law clerk for the Honorable Henry J. Boroff of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and before the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. He is also admitted to practice in the State of New Hampshire and the United States District Court of New Hampshire.

Lee A. Harrington

Lee Harrington is a partner of the firm focusing his practice on bankruptcy, reorganization, and commercial lending, including an extensive litigation practice. He has represented debtors, trustees, secured lenders, indenture trustees, creditors' committees and unsecured creditors in negotiated workouts, assignments for the benefit of creditors, commercial litigation matters, and all aspects of Chapter 11, Chapter 7 and Chapter 15 cases in courts across the country. Much of Lee's work focuses on distressed asset acquisition and restructuring litigation, where he practices in both federal and state courts. Before joining the firm, Lee practiced at Nixon Peabody, LLP in the firm's Boston office and Blank Rome LLP in Philadelphia. Before entering practice, Lee clerked for the late Chief Judge Peter Walsh in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. Lee has lectured on a variety of issues, including the impact of bankruptcy on intellectual property licensing rights, retail restructuring, problems affecting directors and officers of companies in the "zone of insolvency", creditors' rights in bankruptcy, with a particular focus on reclamation rights, stay relief litigation, distressed asset acquisitions in and out of bankruptcy and avoidance litigation. Matt is Co-Manager and a Member of the firm, with over 20 years of experience representing individuals and corporate entities of all sizes in commercial, construction, land-use, employment, insurance, and intellectual property disputes before courts, arbitrators and administrative bodies. He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and North Carolina, and has tried civil jury matters in all three states. Prior to joining Ascendant Law Group, Matt practiced complex business and civil litigation at Gilbert & Renton LLC in Andover, at Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, a multi-state law firm, in its Charlotte, North Carolina office, and before that, at Hanify (now Murphy) & King, in Boston. He has lectured and written articles concerning commercial and land-use litigation; served as Chairman of the Zoning Board of Adjustment for the City of Charlotte, North Carolina; chaired the Wireless Services By-law Committee for the Town of North Andover, Massachusetts; is a past President of the Lawrence Bar Association; and is the immediate past Chair and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association's Complex Commercial Litigation Section Council.
