Dr. Ajay Patel

Ajay Patel, O.D., is a therapeutic optometrist and 2021 Newsweek Top Eye Doctor who offers full-scope, comprehensive eye care, including therapeutic glaucoma management, treatment for eye infections and injuries, and dry eye disease treatment. He also offers quality surgical co-management for laser eye surgery or cataract surgery patients. Dr. Patel has extensive experience working with a wide range of patients, including our military veterans and personnel, and as a result has exceptional bedside manners. Dr. Patel has treated a variety of patients and needs throughout his career. During optometry school, Dr. Patel provided eye care for veterans at the Veterans' Affairs hospital in Peoria, IL. He also served military personnel at Tyndall Airforce Base in Panama City, FL, while completing his degree. Since moving to Texas during graduate school, he has provided eye care services for the underprivileged in San Antonio. Born in Chicago, Ajay fell in love with optometry after shadowing several eye doctors and realizing he could take care of a patient's whole health through the eyes. He relocated to Texas during optometry school and considers himself a "Texan at heart." When he's not taking care of his patients, Dr. Patel is an avid bowler, and he also enjoys traveling and spending time with his two (very spoiled) dogs.

Dr. Boi-Dieu Nguyen

Boi-Dieu Nguyen, O.D., is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist who specializes in treating a wide range of ocular diseases. She has extensive knowledge in cataract and refractive surgeries, as well as oculoplastic surgery. She has experience treating patients of all ages and is exceptionally skilled at solving difficult eye disease cases and reassuring and preparing patients for surgery. Originally from Louisiana, Dr. Nguyen grew up in Texas before heading off to college. She developed a keen interest in eye care after borrowing her friend's glasses in second grade to see the chalkboard. Getting her own first pair of glasses gave her an awareness of the "gift of sight" that extended beyond her prescription and snowballed into a career. She loves using her education and training for philanthropic purposes and has traveled to Mexico and Honduras on mission trips to provide free vision care to the disadvantaged. When she's not seeing patients, Dr. Nguyen enjoys traveling, swimming, and trying new cuisines from restaurants in the DFW metroplex.

Dr. Connor Smith

Connor Smith, M.D. received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Southwestern (UTSW) Medical Center in Dallas. Following the completion of his medical degree, he went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the prestigious Dean McGee Eye Institute before joining Brooks Eye Associates as a glaucoma specialist and LASIK surgeon in Plano, TX. Dr. Smith knows glaucoma patients are particularly vulnerable because the disease manifests without symptoms. For this reason, he is passionate about educating and counseling his patients on their treatment options. Dr. Smith specializes in routine and complex glaucoma, cataract surgery, and LASIK surgery. He offers several minimally invasive treatment options to help control eye pressure, including laser and minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). In his free time, Dr. Smith enjoys traveling, reading, playing sports, running, hiking, playing board games, and spending time with his wife and 10-year-old dog, Ty. He also actively volunteers with a youth mentoring program, Forerunner, and the preschool ministry at his church. He is fluent in English and in medical Spanish.

Dr. Dain B. Brooks

Dain B. Brooks, M.D., is a Board-Certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery and refractive surgery (including LASIK and RLE). After graduating with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha) from the George Washington University School of Medicine in 2002, Dr. Brooks went on to complete his ophthalmology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. During his training and at subsequent Army medical centers, he had the honor of treating eye injuries suffered by soldiers in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars. Dr. Brooks is married with four children. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling with his family, biking, playing tennis, and attending church services. He also frequently offers his talents as a cataract surgeon on international eye surgery medical missions. He is fluent in Spanish.

Dr. Parsha Forouzan

Parsha Forouzan, M.D., M.S., is a Board Eligible ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, oculoplastic surgery, and blepharoplasty, and other laser eye surgeries. He received his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in Houston, graduating as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following the completion of his medical degree, Dr. Forouzan completed an internship in internal medicine at the Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Forouzan found his passion for reconstructive, aesthetic, and blepharoplasty while he pursued his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He remained at UT Southwestern to complete a one-year oculoplastic fellowship. When he's not taking care of his patients, Parsha loves to spend time with his wife and dog, explore new restaurants in Dallas, and travel abroad. Some of his other hobbies include going on road trips, hiking, staying fit at the gym, and playing basketball and other sports. In addition to English, he is fluent in Farsi and knows medical Spanish.
