Vanessa Calcano-Thomas is the Founder and Family Law Attorney at Calcano-Thomas Law in which her work focuses on family law litigation. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was raised in Orlando, Florida where she continues to reside with her husband and three children. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas has a bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree from Florida A&M University College of Law. Prior to founding Calcano-Thomas Law, Mrs. Calcano-Thomas worked in the private sector litigating family law cases consisting of divorces, child support, paternity, injunction, custody, and modification of final judgments. Additionally, Mrs. Calcano-Thomas served as an Assistant Regional Counsel in Orange County Florida where she practiced juvenile dependency law representing of indigent parents against allegations of child abuse in hundreds of cases brought by the Department of Children and Families. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas works diligently to ensure each of her clients receives quality legal representation and successful outcomes in each case. Mrs. Calcano-Thomas also contributes to the community as an Adjunct Professor at Valencia College teaching Business Law since the fall of 2016, is a member of the Collaborative Law Group of Central Florida, serves on the board of the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida Foundation, and serves as a pro bono Guardian Ad Litem for the Legal Aid Society of Orange County.
