I started Claire Newman Architect in 2019 and prior to that I worked for 15 years in the offices of a Cornish architecture and engineering company where I was involved in a vast range of projects, from large scale commercial schemes such as crematoria, flats and housing schemes; through to domestic projects including barn conversions, single dwellings, and extensions and alterations. My extensive heritage experience includes conservation consolidation of Engine Houses, Brick Kilns, China Stone Mills, and historic follies through to contemporary conversions to grade II listed barns, repairs and conversion works to a grade II* listed mining complex, and heritage repairs and works to a scheduled ancient monument Fort... I studied Architecture at the University of Plymouth, where alongside my Architecture Degree I also took a Post Graduate Diploma in Building Conservation.
