Alberd Misku

Alberd Misku is an Associate and Mechanical Engineer responsible for the design and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems. Within the firm, Alberd serves as a project manager and team leader handling both the technical and financial aspects of projects keeping the project team informed while communicating between the client, architect, and Collado engineers. He has his Plumbing Design Certification from the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, and his EIT, working towards his PE license. Alberd joined Collado in 2014 and has applied his technical knowledge to a wide range of projects in varied market sectors including residential, commercial, cultural, and hospitality. Recent projects include Graduate Princeton Hotel, Links Club water heating system upgrade, and Troutbeck Inn Adaptive Reuse. Alberd is also a key member of the Collado Procedures Committee guiding the development of technical standards, as well as Revit and AutoCAD.

Albert (Al) Collado

Firm founder and Chairman Albert (Al) Collado leverages four decades of professional experience to guide and mentor younger members of the firm and is involved in all high-level executive . decisions. Mr. Collado is the "Keeper of the Faith" ensuring the firm maintains its value-centric . approach to design, for which the firm is recognized. Throughout his career, Al has been involved in a variety of projects spanning the architectural- . engineering spectrum-from corporate offices, schools, and universities to healthcare, . institutional, and industrial facilities-in both domestic and international markets. He is driven by his desire to fully understand the client's goals and to find the simplest, most cost-effective solution to meet their objectives. Committed to the betterment of the industry, Mr. Collado has held leadership positions in . numerous professional organizations. He served as President of the American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) Research Foundation and the NYC Chapter of ASPE, as well as a member of the Board of Governors of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineer's (ASHRAE) Bi-State Chapter. He has lectured extensively on the topic of fire protection, published numerous articles, and served on editorial advisory boards for trade publications.

Andy Hlushko - President

Collado Engineering President Andrew (Andy) Hlushko is responsible for the firm's business and technical activities. A long-time associate and colleague of founder Al Collado, Andy joined the firm in 2011, bringing his expertise in multiple market sectors, including mixed-use developments, . corporate interiors, higher education, K-12 education, mission critical, healthcare, and hospitality. All projects are fun through Andy to ensure the engineering designs meet the highest standards of performance and efficiency. Over the course of his career, Andy has exhibited a project management approach which quickly earns the trust of our clients. He accepts their project challenges as his own and works to develop solutions to maximize the value. He embodies the philosophy that a satisfied client is a long- . term client. Andy has been published in several trade magazines and collaborated on the Building Security-Handbook for Architectural Planning and Design. He served as a 15-year member of the Manhattan College Electrical Engineering Board of Advisors and currently serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Board of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater New York.

Chris Mias

Christopher (Chris) Mias is responsible for the management and development of the mechanical department as a Principal and Senior Mechanical Engineer. Additionally, he overseas the firm's . energy and sustainability division, leading engineers across multiple trades in focusing on energy-use policy, sustainability, and high performing systems. In his 10 years in the industry, Chris has become familiar with all aspects of MEP engineering . specializing mainly in the latest HVAC heat pump technologies and energy saving design . approaches. He has provided innovative and integrated designs for a variety of market sectors . including schools, restaurants, commercial fit-outs, high-end residential, and ground-up apartment buildings, both low- and high-rise. Chris participated in the 2020 NYC Energy Code Advisory Committee, Residential Chapter, . providing feedback and recommendations for the code revision. He has also lectured on the . subject for the NYS Association of Towns and for the Urban Green Council's "What's New in the Energy Code?" lecture series, and he is currently participating on the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority's 2023 NYStretch Code.

George Aspras

George Aspras, a Principal and Senior Electrical Engineer, is responsible for the management, . coordination, and design of electrical and fire alarm systems for all projects. Since joining Collado . in 2007, he has led the design of electrical systems for healthcare, commercial, multiple-dwelling residential, high-end residential, mission critical, places of worship, and cultural facilities. He . directly supervises junior electrical staff serving as a mentor and ensuring project objectives are being met. With experience in project development from its conception through construction, George brings a holistic perspective and approach to the work. He has developed many of the firm's engineering standards and design tools helping to maintain the highest level of quality in the firm's work. A strategic and innovative thinker, George's contributions help the firm maintain a competitive . technical advantage.

Miguel Quintanilla

Miguel Quintanilla, a Principal and Senior Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer in the firm, is responsible for overseeing the plumbing and fire protection department to ensure technical excellence is achieved across all projects. He also serves as a project manager and team leader handling all technical and financial aspects of the project ensuring constant communication between Collado Engineering, the client, and the entire project team. With 20 years of experience, Miguel has developed technical skills specializing in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems. He brings his passion for engineering, paired with great . communication skills, to bring success to our projects and clients. Miguel's experience includes high-rise, corporate interiors, schools, and healthcare facilities.

Monica Ortiz

Monica Ortiz is responsible for all office operations and support services for the firm. Her scope . of work includes office administration, human resources and benefits activities, marketing and event planning, and proposal management. She works with the engineering staff on professional development opportunities, coordination and scheduling, and is spearheading the firm's . promotional activities. Monica is a knowledgeable finance and administrative professional with more than 15 years of . experience. Before joining Collado in 2017, she held the positon of Finance Manager for the Westchester County Association in White Plains.
