DOING IT DIFFERENT - Key Persons
Doing it Different was founded by Tania who has worked in the disability and aged care sectors for over 30 years. Tania is a qualified Developmental Educator, and has expertise across a wide range of areas having worked extensively in Government service provision, the NDIA Scheme Implementation and as a provider of services in community settings. Tania has a personal connection to mental health supports and a deep understanding of legislation, person centred approaches and experience across all areas of disability.
One of Tania's greatest achievements was to design and develop human rights, and person centred policy and Active Support across South Australia. This training was provided to staff and organisations to improve services for people living with disability and their supporters. Tania was awarded a scholarship to study in America in 2019, learning from organisations that focussed on innovative and individualised service delivery, which provided opportunities to spend time with people with complex disabilities and mental health living ordinary lives in their communities.
Having worked in service provision and alongside many support coordinators, I know what works and what does not work well. I am passionate about bringing my knowledge and experience to support people to live on their own terms, and to be genuinely connected and included in the fabric of community.
