Dr. Pivoda received her BS in Biology from Cornell University prior to attending the University of Glasgow, School of Veterinary Medicine in Scotland. She returned to complete a rotating small animal internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey. She remained there for 2 years as a staff ER veterinarian before joining the emergency team at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in 2015. In 2022 she is excited to help develop and launch the Ethos Veterinary Emergency Training (E-VET) program as E-VET Program Manager. Dr. Pivoda is eager to guide new doctors through this research-based program focused on the highest level of emergency medicine and veterinary care.

Amanda Masciarelli

Dr. Masciarelli grew up in southern Maine. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Animal Science - Pre Veterinary Medicine, and proceeded to veterinary school at the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island, Canada, where she graduated in 2010. Because of her passion for horses and imaging Dr. Masciarelli then completed a one year equine surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in Lexington, KY, and a one year diagnostic imaging internship at Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in Houston, TX. Following this she began a three-year diagnostic imaging residency at Texas A&M University, College of Veterinary Medicine, in College Station, TX. She completed her residency in July 2016. Andrea Looney

Dr. Looney graduated from Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. She spent a year in private practice, then returned to Cornell's small animal hospital for an instructorship in Community Medicine and Anesthesiology. In 1997, she completed a Residency in Anesthesiology and became boarded in Anesthesiology in 2001. Post residency, Dr. Looney held positions with Angell/MSPCA Animal Medical Center in Boston and Springfield, MA in Intensive Care, Anesthesiology, and General Medicine, Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and Tufts Veterinary Emergency Treatment and Specialties as Hospital Director and Assistant Clinical Professor, and most recently Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine where she spearheaded the Pain Management and Rehabilitation Service for both large and small animals. Dr. Looney joined the us in 2014 to develop and expand anesthesia services at all of the hospitals in our network. Her special interests include interventional pain management, rehabilitation, palliative care, postoperative care, and anesthesiology.

Bronwyn Riggs

Christina Malloy

Originally from New York, Christina moved to Massachusetts in 2008 where she studied Biology and Marine Science at Boston University. After graduating, she worked in Boston at a general practice for several years where she fell in love with the human-animal bond and discovered the field of veterinary social work. Christina received her master's in social work from Simmons College and completed her final clinical rotation at Angell Animal Medical Center. She is the first veterinary social worker at Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital and joined our team in 2018. Veterinary social work is a new and exciting field that aims to address the human needs that may arise in veterinary medicine. Christina is a resource for our clients and our staff. Claudia Peach joined the veterinary health profession in 2012. She received her Associates in Animal Science from Great Bay Community College in 2014. Throughout her schooling, Claudia worked in a southern NH veterinary hospital where she rotated in general practice, emergency, and specialty. There she gained experience and the desire to learn more about the operational piece of veterinary health care. Claudia was promoted to technician supervisor in 2013 where she was able to advance her knowledge in operations and leadership, which allowed her to apply for a practice management position. The combination of these positions allowed Claudia to pursue both her skills as a technician but also her passion for business management. Claudia joined Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital in 2016 as the Hospital Services Manager for the Emergency services and in August of 2019 she took on the role of Hospital Services Manager at SAVES in Lebanon, NH. Since starting her career with Ethos, Claudia has completed a certification in Veterinary Practice Management. As Hospital Services Manager, Claudia oversees the Emergency and Critical Care services. Dr. Lauren Duffee

Dr. Lauren Duffee graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a degree in Biology and Biochemistry. After spending a year in the San Francisco Bay Area for an equine-focused internship, Dr. Duffee returned to the University of Pennsylvania to complete a three-year residency in veterinary anesthesia and analgesia in small and large animals. She has also recently completed a veterinary acupuncture course with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society. Dr. Duffee is particularly interested in locoregional anesthesia and pain management in cats and dogs and strives to ensure the comfort of animals in the face of the current opioid restrictive climate. Following her internship, Dr. Amato completed a three year joint residency in small animal surgery at Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and Angell Animal Medical Center. After being accepted as a Diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2009, Dr. Amato remained in the Tufts Community as a small animal surgeon and clinical assistant professor at Tufts V.E.T.S. Dr. Scott Taylor

Dr. Scott Taylor received his veterinary degree from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Gena M. Silver

Dr. Silver has been with us since the opening of Mass Vet in 2000, developing the neurology service from the ground up. She is from Nova Scotia, Canada and earned her veterinary degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island, Canada in 1995. She then completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at Washington State University where she remained for a three-year residency in neurology and neurosurgery. Following the residency, she stayed on faculty for a one-year clinical instructor position in neurology and neurosurgery. Washington State University was the first veterinary hospital in the world that had an in-house MRI unit, giving Dr. Silver more than 16 years of experience in using MRI as the primary imaging modality for neurologic patients. Dr. Silver gained board-certification in neurology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2000. Dr. Silver is a member of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, American Veterinary Medical Association, Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, and is an active board member on the Veterinary Association of the North Shore. Dr. Silver has taken the neurosurgical certification course offered by ACVIM in 2012 and a neurosurgical stabilization coarse offered by AO North America in 2013. Dr. Silver has lectured for MVMA, VANS, and many in house CE lectures for hospitals in the Ethos network of hospitals. Ivan Sosa Samper

Dr. Sosa received his DVM at the University of Zaragoza in Spain, in 2007. He then went on to complete a small animal rotating internship in medicine and surgery at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom. After working as a general practitioner for four years, in 2012 Dr. Sosa moved to the United States for a residency in Cardiology at the University of Florida. He became a board certified cardiologist by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2016, the same year he joined the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital. Although Dr. Sosa enjoys challenging cardiology cases in both dogs and cats, he has a special interest in interventional cardiology procedures such as balloon valvuloplasty, PDA occlusion and pacemaker implantation. When not at work, Dr. Sosa and his wife enjoy sailing with his Golden Retriever.

Dr. Jennifer Brisson is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Tufts University, Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her residency in diagnostic imaging at Tufts University Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, during which she was trained in all modalities of diagnostic imaging including radiography, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and nuclear medicine. Following her residency, Dr. Brisson completed several courses of additional training in interventional radiology. Dr. Brisson works full time for Ethos Veterinary Health as the National Director of Diagnostic Imaging, and as a diagnostic and interventional radiologist at the Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital, located in Woburn, MA. She actively participates in the training of students, interns, and residents and is a frequent lecturer on a wide variety of imaging topics, including radiation safety, non-manual restraint radiography, optimizing use of ultrasound in practice, applications for MRI in small animals, and clinical techniques in interventional radiology. Dr. Brisson is also a long-time volunteer veterinarian with the New England Aquarium, providing advanced imaging services for a variety of aquatic species.

Kathy Vu

Kathy Vu graduated in 2017 from the MCPHS University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. During her sixth year rotations, she was a student at the Ethos Compounding Pharmacy and discovered her love for veterinary medicine. She had the opportunity to join the pharmacy full-time in 2018 and has become an important member of the team. She is also an avid animal lover and currently has three German shepherds at home. Kenneth Palladino

Dr. Palladino received a Bachelor of Marine Science Biology from Southampton College of Long Island University. After working at a local animal hospital he elected to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. He graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007, after completing his clinical year at the University of Minnesota. Shortly thereafter, she was accepted into the Management Trainee program where she worked alongside the hospital service managers for two years. In 2017, Rebecca accepted the position of Hospital Services Manager for Client Services. Her responsibilities included developing and cultivating the Client Care and Concierge teams to provide the highest level of service for clients, overseeing the operation of the department, and developing new ideas to create an exceptional client experience. In 2019, Rebecca accepted the position of Hospital Services Manager, Medicine Services.
