B. Michael Baltzell '71 is President of Baltzell Management Consulting LLC. He provides consulting services to companies in the United States, Canada, the Middle East, and China. An expert in the global aluminum industry, Baltzell began his career in 1971 as an Industrial Engineer with Eastalco Aluminum Co., then owned by Howmet Corp. in Frederick, Maryland. He was named Production Services Superintendent in 1977, Potline Superintendent in 1981, and Senior Vice President and General Manager of Eastalco in 1987. In 1994, he moved to Norcross, Georgia, and was elected President of Alumax Primary Aluminum Corporation. In December 1998, he was appointed to the position of President and Managing Director of Alcoa of Australia, following Alcoa's acquisition of Alumax. In December of 2001 he was appointed President of Primary Development. Baltzell retired in September 2005 after more than 34 years of service in the aluminum industry. Baltzell received his bachelor's degree in operations research and industrial engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1971, and a master's degree in operations research from George Washington University in 1976. He conducted postgraduate studies at Hood College, and he is a graduate of the University of Michigan Executive Program. Baltzell received the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2014.

Chao Wang is an associate professor of chemical and biomolecular engineering and the director of the Nano Energy Laboratory. He is also the director of the department's master's admissions. His research interests are primarily in carbon dioxide capture and conversion, electrochemical energy conversion and storage, and heterogeneous catalysis for green chemical engineering.
Chaomei Chen, MS '88, a retired business executive from financial industry, lives in San Francisco, USA. A leading expert in risk management and operations, Ms. Chen held Chief Risk Officer, Chief Credit Officer, and Executive Vice President positions at LendingClub (Jun'11-Dec'15), JPMorgan Chase Card / Wamu (Sept'08-Aug'09), Wamu Card Services (Oct'05-Sept'08), Providian Financial Corporation (Aug'02-Sept'05), FleetBoston Financial Services (Jun'98-Aug'02) and PNC National Bank (Jun'96-May'98), where she was responsible for the company's overall risk management strategy and execution. Chaomei also held management positions at Household Credit Services, American Express, and Citicorp in the past. Ms. Chen currently serves as director on the board of Yirendai, Ltd, and Propel (X). Charles Goldstein, MS '68 has been acting as a strategic advisor to large and medium companies seeking to expand further into or enter the Health Care market, since retiring as a Senior Vice President from Becton Dickinson (BD) in Jan 2016. Charles also serves as Board member for innovative start up companies. On the investment side, Charles is a seed stage angel investor. Overall Charles expertise covers all aspects of early stage innovation, business and go to market strategy and also deep knowledge of product development for medical devices, diagnostics and life science research tools. Charles received an award from the Johns Hopkins University for distinguished alumni service. He received several awards from the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Charles has received several of the highest level leadership awards that BD offers. He received an MSE degree from Hopkins, an MA and PhD from Princeton in Chemical Engineering and BCHE from The City College of New York.
Charles Johnson-Bey, PhD '89 is a leader in global organizational change for Booz Allen's commercial and defense clients. Based out of our Belcamp, Maryland, office, he develops and executes innovative resilience strategies that reflect evolving markets and technology dynamics.
Charles has more than 25 years of engineering experience spanning cyber resilience, signal processing, system architecture, prototyping, and hardware. In leading our engineering and science community, he inspires leaders and promotes innovation, collaboration, and sharing of intellectual capital across the firm.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, he was a research engineer at Corning Incorporated and Motorola Corporate Research Labs and taught electrical engineering at Morgan State University. He also worked at Lockheed Martin Corporation for 17 years, where he galvanized the company's cyber resources and led research and development activities with organizations including Oak Ridge National Laboratory, Microsoft Research, and the GE Global Research Center.
Charles serves on the Whiting School of Engineering Advisory Board and the Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisory Committee, both at Johns Hopkins University. He is also on the Cybersecurity Institute Advisory Board for the Community College of Baltimore County.

Chris Perretta '79 has led large IT organizations, including General Electric Capital, State Street Corporation, and MUFG, as global chief information officer for 25 years. At GE Capital, which was then a financial services company accounting for half of all GE earnings, he was part of a team that promoted the use of innovative manufacturing quality and digitization techniques. At State Street, which has nearly $30 trillion in assets under custody or management, his team led post-financial crisis efforts to adopt cloud technology and to digitally transform the global asset servicing business. At MUFG, he formulated strategy and initiated efforts to adopt new technologies, methods, and organizational models to reinvigorate customer responsiveness and to build an efficient and secure growth engine for the Americas' arm of the world's fifth largest bank. He started his career at General Electric's Aerospace Division in Syracuse, NY, completing the Edison Engineering program and a master's program at Syracuse University. He also did graduate work at the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences Technology and Management. Perretta serves on the board of directors at Netscout Systems (NTCT) in Westford, MA, and the Advanced Cyber Security Center in Boston, MA. He also is an active volunteer with the Whiting School of Engineering, serving as a member on the Applied Mathematics Departmental Advisory Committee and the Whiting School of Engineering Advisory Board.
Cindy Plain is the Administrative Manager in the CLE. She has been with Hopkins since 2016, first at the Homewood Student Health and Wellness Center, and moved to the Whiting School of Engineering in April of 2021. Cindy is responsible for the oversight of administrative and financial activities of the department, along with providing leadership, planning, and management direction to the department. She holds a BS in Business and Finance and BA in History from Mount Saint Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. Outside the office, Cindy enjoys spending time with her three adult children, is active in missions in Baltimore City with her church, and has a passion for gardening, reading historical fiction and going on long hikes.

Darlene Saporu currently serves as the assistant dean for diversity and inclusion at the Whiting School of Engineering. Before joining Hopkins, she was the assistant dean of diversity at the Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.
In her current role at the School of Engineering, she provides strategic vision and programmatic leadership on equity, diversity, and inclusion. Saporu has spearheaded numerous initiatives at Hopkins aimed at improving the school climate, recruiting, and retaining students and faculty who contribute to the diversity and excellence of our community, building partnerships with HBCUs and other peer institutions, and addressing concerns and providing support and mentoring to students and faculty on a wide range of issues. Some highlights of her work include the incredibly successful Passport to Future Technology Leadership program, an 18-month career preparation program for doctoral students interested in entering industry upon graduation, as well as the Explore Hopkins Program which was developed to provide students with a personalized opportunity to visit and learn about WSE's doctoral programs from current student and faculty.
She is the co-PI of a National Science Foundation AGEP Alliance grant called Project ELEVATE. The goal of the $3 million award is to develop a career advancement model for early career faculty at selective institutions.
David E. Swirnow, MS '93 is president of Quantum Capital LLC, Pinnacle Development Investors LLC, and Avenere Cladding LLC, as well as of Primary Acoustics LLC and Swirnow Structures LLC. His career started in construction product sales in 1980. He later acquired his family's business and established Swirnow Building Systemssm. During his tenure, the business grew five-fold. Swirnow received a Masters of Science degree in Real Estate from Johns Hopkins University in 1993. Two years later, he started making real estate investments. Over the last 20 years, Swirnow -or entities he controls-have been involved as investors, managers, or both, in more than 100 businesses. Today, he participates in more than 50 such active ventures. The latest addition to Swirnow's portfolio is Monument Sotheby's International Realty. As of October 1, 2015 Swirnow and his partners have successfully launched the industry's premier realty brand in the region. Between his real estate interests and building systems group, Swirnow has been involved in hundreds of commercial buildings of all types. Dr. Phyllis Schneck is vice president and chief information security officer (CISO) for Northrop Grumman. In this role, she oversees the company's global cybersecurity strategy and policies and is responsible for the digital security of the company's products, services and infrastructures.
Schneck has 20 years of government and private-sector experience in senior cybersecurity positions. She joined Northrop Grumman in 2019 from Promontory, a division of IBM, where she led the firm's cybersecurity practice as managing director and global leader of Cyber Solutions.
Prior to her tenure with Promontory, Schneck served as the deputy undersecretary for cybersecurity and communications for the Department of Homeland Security, where she led responses to cybersecurity threats against corporations, civilians and the government. During this time, she led the defensive cybersecurity operational mission to mitigate and respond to cyber threats across the federal civilian government and private sector.
Schneck was a member of the Center for Strategic and International Studies Commission on Cybersecurity as part of the 44th President's administration. She was chairman of the board of directors of the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance, a partnership between corporations, government and law enforcement for using cyber analysis to combat international cybercrime. Schneck was also vice chairman of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's advisory board on information security and privacy, and she served for eight years as national chairman of the board of directors of the FBI's public-private InfraGard program. She has briefed and worked with several foreign governments to form partnerships with the U.S. for information sharing, infrastructure protection, and cybersecurity. Schneck holds several information-security and technology patents.

F. Suzanne Jenniches, MS '79 retired as Vice President and General Manager of the Government Systems Division of Northrup Grumman Corp.'s Electronic Systems Sector in 2010, is a female pioneer in the field of engineering. Her 41-year career included a variety of positions at Westinghouse Electric Corp., where she was the company's first woman engineer and where she began as a computerized test engineer and later managed Systems & Technology Operations. (In 1996, Northrop Grumman Corporation acquired the Westinghouse Electronics Systems.) Jenniches earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Clarion State College in 1970. She then taught high school biology for five years while pursuing her master's degree in environmental engineering at Johns Hopkins University's evening college, where she was the only female studying Environmental Engineering at the time. Jenniches also did extensive post-graduate work in international affairs at The Catholic University of America, and she attended the Harvard Business School program in Management Development. She is Past President of the National Society of Women Engineers and was honored in 2000 with that group's Achievement Award. She was the Founding Chair of the Engineering Programs for Professionals Advisory Council at Johns Hopkins University from 2003 to 2006. For over 25 years and across more than 100 organizations, Mr. Pillari has worked as an adviser, Chief Restructuring Officer and Chief Executive Officer in the healthcare industry. Recent Life Sciences experience includes toxicology and clinical reference laboratories, as well as biotech and diagnostic device manufacturers and distributors. Recent Services experience includes senior living facilities, integrated healthcare systems, and managed care organizations. He has direct operational experience as an interim manager and financial adviser to both debtors and creditors and has been involved in all aspects of the reorganization and turnaround process, including formulating and evaluating business plans and capital structure, developing turnaround strategies, preparing forecast models and short- and long-term cash flow plans. He has overseen the development and implementation of lender forbearance agreements and has been involved in more than $5.0 billion of in- and out-of-court debt and equity restructurings. Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Pillari was the CEO of CBCA Inc., a health benefits outsourcing company that managed more than $1 billion of medical costs annually on behalf of corporate customers. Before that, he was co-founder and CEO of Solucient (nka Truven Health Analytics, an IBM Watson Health Company), a leading provider of healthcare information and decision support. Mr. Pillari led Solucient from its start-up through its initial public offering and managed it as a public company for four years before its sale. George Sykes '91 is Senior Managing Director for Guggenheim Partners in New York. He launched his hedge fund, GS Gamma Investments, in 2004 which is affiliated with Guggenheim Partners. The fund is focused on agency mortgage-backed securities and has $1B under management. GS Gamma has been ranked in Barron's top 100 hedge funds on three separate occasions, including #15 in 2009 and #17 in 2010. George began his career in the Taxable Fixed Income division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) in 1991. From 1991 to 1993, he was a Vice President in DLJ's Mortgage Research Department, profiled as the #1 ranked mortgage research team in Institutional Investor magazine, and in 1994 moved into mortgage trading. Sykes left DLJ in 1995 to co-found Links Securities Inc. (now Guggenheim Capital Markets), a broker-dealer focused on mortgage-backed securities, where he managed its trading desk until 2004. Sykes' research on mortgage-backed securities has been published in the Journal of Fixed Income. Sykes serves as Co-Chair of the Whiting School's Campaign Committee. As one of the group's first members, he was instrumental in development of the group and was part of the campaign planning process for the Whiting School. He joined APL in the 1970s, where he led the conception, enabling technologies, and design of the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) for the U.S. Navy. (The CEC is a reconfigurable data-sharing sensor network that provides Navy battle groups with a common operating air picture.) In 1996, he served as technical lead for the Navy's "Mountain Top" advanced concept technology demonstration in Kauai, an event that validated the cooperative engagement concept embodied in today's Naval Integrated Fire Control-Counter Air capability. Joseph R. Reynolds, Jr. '69 is the Founder and President of RTI Group, LLC and Anamet, Inc. based in the U.S., as well as the founder and chairman of the London-based firm Reynolds Technological Inquiries Limited, RTI Ltd. Reynolds also is co-founder of FTI Consulting, Inc. He is an internationally recognized forensic engineer and an authority regarding the investigation and analysis of large-loss accidents and failures. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins and did post-graduate work there in physics and mathematics. He is the founding Chairman of the Johns Hopkins University Society of Engineering Alumni. Jun Wu is a founding partner of Amino Capital, an adjunct professor at Shanghai Jiaotong University, a former senior staff research scientist at Google, a former vice president at Tencent Technologies, and a board member of five public and private companies.
A renowned expert in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and web search, Wu began his career at Google as a software engineer, and subsequently as a research scientist, in 2002. Shortly after joining, Wu received the Google Engineering Award for his accomplishments in web search anti-spam. He was the original author of Google's Chinese/Japanese/Korean search algorithms; the inventor of many Google technologies using natural language processing; and was highly praised by Eric Schmidt and Sergey Brin for his contributions to the company. He co-founded the engineering departments of APAC, which evolved into the Google offices in China, Japan, and Korea.
Wu joined Tencent Technologies as the VP in charge of search, infrastructure, maps, and search ads from 2010 to 2012. In only two years, he helped boost the company's search traffic and revenue by six-fold. Wu rejoined Google in 2012 and initiated efforts in smart search and automatic question/answering. In 2014, he left Google to cofound Amino Capital, where he invested in about 300 startup companies, including Zoom, Grail, Meituan, Kuaishou, Weee, and Dfinity.
Wu is a member of the advisory board of the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University, and he has given back to the school in many ways since his graduation. He has authored many award-winning books, inspiring many young people to participate in the IT industry. Kewei Yang, MS '91, PhD '95 is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Analogix Semiconductor, Inc., a global technology leader in fabless semiconductors for the digital multimedia market. Since founding Analogix in 2002 Dr. Yang has cultivated a corporate culture that nurtures creativity, innovation, and dedication to customers. Under his leadership, Analogix has seen many technological breakthroughs, and has expanded its product, market, and customer portfolio to include today's most popular consumer electronics devices from the world's leading brands. With decades of semiconductor experience, engineering excellence, and a global perspective on customer needs, Dr. Yang leads a team of 300 people in the development and market deployment of over 60 products, shipping 1.5 billion semiconductors for smartphones, tablets, notebooks, self-driving cars and VR/AR headsets. In March 2017, Analogix was acquired by China's Shanhai Capital for more than $500M, the world's largest private semiconductor acquisition transaction in more than a decade. Throughout his career, Dr. Yang has focused on high-speed analog and mixedsignal design. Prior to Analogix, he was vice-president of engineering at Mindspeed Technology, a division of Conexant, where he directed the company's development of high-speed transceivers and switch fabric ICs. Landon King is Executive Vice Dean for Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he oversees research administration, policy coordination and the identification and coordination of technology transfer opportunities. He earned his medical degree in 1989 from Vanderbilt University and first came to Hopkins that year as an intern on the Osler Medical Service. As a postdoctoral fellow and later, after joining the faculty as an Assistant Professor in 1997, he undertook important studies of water channels in the lung with 2003 Nobel Laureate Peter Agre. In 2005, he was selected to be the Director of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He was elected to the American Society for Clinical Investigation in 2006 for work on aquaporin water channels. His work currently focuses on mechanisms regulating repair of lung injury.

Brown currently is participating in the founding, funding and/or growth of five start-up corporations. He also serves on the FastForward tech transfer board at the Johns Hopkins University. Lynn Elsenhans earned her Bachelor of Arts in mathematical sciences from Rice University in 1978 and her Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University in 1980.
She is a retired executive now serving as a non-executive director and a community volunteer. The former Chairman and CEO of Sunoco and Sunoco Logistics, she served Sunoco from August of 2008 until May of 2012. Before joining Sunoco she had a 28-year career with Royal Dutch Shell. Her executive positions with Shell included Executive Vice President of Global Manufacturing, President of Shell Oil Company, and President and CEO Shell Oil Products for both the Asia Pacific Middle East and US regions. Marshal L. Salant '80 is the Head of Citi's Alternative Energy Finance Group in the Capital Markets Origination Division. Michael J. Zinner, MD '67 is Chief Executive Officer and the Executive Medical Director of the Miami Cancer Institute Baptist Health South Florida. He trained in surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1971 to 1979 and was on faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine from 1985 to 1988. He is the Moseley Professor of Surgery Emeritus at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Zinner is the former the Surgeon-in-Chief at the Brigham Women's Hospital and the Clinical Director of the Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women's Cancer Center from 1994 to 2016, and former Chief of Surgery at UCLA from 1988 to 1994. He was the Chairman of the Board. In 2004, Zinner established the Center for Surgery and Public Health, which focuses on health care quality, safety and effectiveness, as well as global surgical care. He is Chairman of the Health Policy and Advocacy Committee for the American College of Surgeons. He is an adjunct professor at Brandeis University's Heller School for Social Policy and Management. In 2007, Zinner was the recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award. Additionally, Zinner also has served on hospital and health care boards across the country, and is a member of The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation National Advisory Committee beginning in 2013. He was the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) from 2008 to 2010, and now is Chairman of the Board of Regents of the College.

During his eight years at athenahealth, the company grew revenues from $250m to over $1.3B ( all of which was organic in nature) and delivered market cap expansion from under $1B to almost $6B. Prior to that, Dr. Kahane was the chairman and chief executive officer of publicly-traded AMICAS, Inc., an image and information management solutions company that grew revenues fourfold in four years with dramatic margin and market cap expansion. Dr. Kahane's experience also includes roles as the chief executive officer of publicly-traded, VitalWorks Inc. (sold to publicly traded, Cerner Corp.) and privately held, Datamedic Holding Corporation (sold to publicly traded Infocure Inc).

Tommy Jones '88 is Vice President Facilities and Operations Services - Site Leader for the Disneyland resort. With over 35 years of experience in engineering and general management, Tommy has worked in several industries including materials science, biomedical engineering, defense and military systems, large scale software/simulation development, large scale hospitality construction and large-scale facilities management. He brings a wealth of experience from having worked in these industries as well as several Fortune 500 companies such as The Walt Disney Company, Raytheon, Hughes Aircraft and prestigious universities such as Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory and MIT Lincoln Laboratories.
Tommy's diverse national and international experiences add another dimension in terms of diversity of thought and management. Tommy has worked in several states within the US as well as internationally. He grew up in the south in Shreveport Louisiana and worked coast to coast, before going abroad. Internationally, Tommy has supported defense systems projects in Europe and in Asia. In Hong Kong, the Middle East and the Caribbean developed and operated large scale hospitality/theme parks.
His Disney career includes a position on the opening team of Hong Kong Disneyland. He served as the Technical Director for Show Ride Engineering for Walt Disney Imagineering for HKDL construction and transitioned into the role of Director Facilities Operations Services for Hong Kong Disneyland.

Tyson Tuttle served as CEO at Silicon Labs, a leading provider of silicon, software and solutions for a smarter, more connected world. He spearheaded the company's focus on the Internet of Things (IoT), leveraging its wireless and integration expertise to become one of the industry's most respected IoT market leaders.

William "Bill" Stromberg recently retired as the president and CEO of T. Rowe Price, and currently serves as non-executive chair of its board. He joined the company in 1987 as an equity investment analyst and went on to serve in a variety of roles within the organization, including portfolio manager of the Dividend Growth Fund (1992 to 2000) and the Capital Opportunity Fund (2000 to 2007). His career pivoted towards leadership beginning in 1996 when he became director of Equity Research, developing the firm's equity analysts for 10 years. Then from 2006 to 2015, he led U.S. Equity and eventually allof Global Equity until becoming CEO (and board member) in January 2016.
Under his leadership, T. Rowe Price accelerated its pace of development in its investment, distribution, technology, and product areas, which helped the company perform well for its clients, grow its business, and remain rock-solid financially. He guided the investment firm during a period of intensifying competition but despite the industry backdrop, T. Rowe performed well, and in 2021, broke into the Fortune 500, ranked at 447, the first Baltimore-based company to join the list since 2012.
After 35 years at T. Rowe Price, Mr. Stromberg retired from his role as CEO on December 31, 2021. Prior to T. Rowe Price, he worked for Westinghouse Defense as a systems engineer. He earned a bachelor's degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Whiting School of Engineering at Johns Hopkins University and an M.B.A. from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth. On a civic level, Bill has served on a variety of boards and committees within the Baltimore Community throughout his career including the Towson YMCA, Associated Catholic Charities, Loyola Blakefield, the Greater Baltimore Committee, and the Greater Washington Partnership. He and his wife, Lisa, have been philanthropic leaders as well, co-chairing several capital campaigns for these organizations. Bill currently serves on the Johns Hopkins University Board of Trustees.
