Christopher D. Buchanan - SVP

Chris joined IES as a Project Manager has worked in 2001. He has over ten years of experience in environmental consulting and has completed numerous Environmental Site Assessments throughout the Northeast. In addition to interpreting Federal, State and Local environmental laws and regulations to ensure project compliance, Chris consults directly with clients to identify and resolve soil/groundwater contamination issues. While on project sites, he collects soil and groundwater samples, conducts groundwater flow surveys, and oversees UST closures and Underground Injection Well Closures. This hands-on experience translates well to his other responsibilities such as report preparation and review; project contracting and budgeting; supervision of remedial subcontractors, Previously, Chris worked at as an Engineering Geologist for MTGL, a geotechnical engineering company located in San Diego, CA.

John Beck Field

John has been with IES for 20 years and works in all phases of environmental remediation, from risk appraisal and site review to overseeing test boring operations and soil removal. Currently, he conducts the majority of onsite groundwater and soil sampling operations while employing the latest sampling techniques. Working closely with project managers, John is committed to quality control by ensuring tests are performed correctly on every project. Prior to IES, John worked as a Production Geologist for Chevron U.S.A. Inc. in the oil fields West Texas and conducted original research in stratigraphic paleontology at Boston College.

John Erik Strom

John Erik has been working in environmental consulting/remediation since 2019. As Project Geologist, he provides comprehensive site assessments and conducts remediation activities for Massachusetts Contingency Plan (MCP) projects. Additionally, he supports underground storage tank (UST) removals and investigations involving real estate due diligence services including Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments consistent with ASTM and Massachusetts 21E standards. Strom's specific skillset includes groundwater treatment plant operation, soil/water/air sampling, water quality monitoring, site inspections, sedimentary lab techniques, coring methods, geophysical data collection/processing, report writing, and geologic mapping. John Erik's work and relationships with clients and colleagues mirror IES's high standards of honesty and integrity. He places great value in working together to achieve common goals in a structured and safety-minded manner.

Kerry Asetta - President

Kerry has over 25 years of experience in environmental consulting and has performed over 2,000 Environmental Site Assessments throughout New England and Metro NY City area. Responsible for overseeing Subsurface Investigations, Underground Storage Tank (UST) removals, and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Surveys, she is also well-versed in performing Limited Removal Actions (LRAs) and Immediate Response Actions (IRA's). Her hands-on approach to sampling, filtering and lab analysis of soil and groundwater samples

Kevin L. McAndrews

Kevin W. Taylor - EVP

Joining IES in 1995, Kevin's experience in every aspect of environmental consulting serves him well as the primary client contact. He also oversees all projects and budgets to ensure they are completed to the highest standards and within budget. During his career, he has been responsible for all phases of Environmental Site Assessments, managing Field Operations, completing report reviews with risk assessments, technical report writing, and developing Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). Additionally, Kevin has taught courses related to the asbestos abatement industry, conducted lead-based paint surveys, performed indoor air quality studies (IAQs), completed mold/mildew inspections and developed remedial plans. Prior to IES Kevin was employed by Hygenitics Inc. serving as Project Manager for term contracts involving Industrial Hygiene Services with the United States Postal Service, the State of Connecticut Department of Public Works, and the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Ligia Rivera

Ligia has been the Office Manager for 8 years and has been with IES for a total of 19 years. She started as a Data Entry Clerk and diligently worked her way up to become the Office Manager. Ligia runs the day to day operations within the office and manages a wide variety of tasks.

Melissa Alvarado

Melissa began her IES career IES in 2005 and currently works as a Project Manager. During this time, she has performed numerous risk assessments throughout New England and New York. Her responsibilities have included performing site assessments; soil and groundwater sampling; as well as overseeing subsurface investigations, remedial response actions, Underground Storage Tank (UST) removals and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) surveys. Currently, Melissa performs Data Reports, ASTM Transaction Screens and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments.

Owen Krol

Owen joined IES in 2019 and conducts all levels of environmental assessments throughout New England, and contributes to subsurface investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, and site remediation activities. Prior to his work with IES, Owen spent time researching soil carbon dynamics in temperate forests.

Steven Iorio - SVP

Steve began his career at IES in 2012 and has managed a variety of consulting projects including risk appraisal and site review. He has performed ASTM Limited and Phase I Environmental Site Assessments in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New Jersey. Steve also take an actives role on-site during Underground Storage Tank (UST) removals, subsequent subsurface investigations, and oversight of test boring operations.
