Christopher Bearman

Christopher Bearman is a freelance musician, performing on tuba, and as a conductor and teacher. He graduated from Trinity College of Music in 2009 and in 2010 received a scholarship to study for a post graduate diploma in performance at the Royal College of Music. Since graduating he has performed with various groups of many different styles, having worked with Superbrass, Grimethorpe Colliery Band, at the London Jazz Festival, as a soloist for Malcolm Arnold's 80th Birthday Concert and live performances on BBC Radios 2 and 3. As a conductor, Christopher has worked with brass bands, ensembles and orchestras in the London area and he was appointed Musical Director of London Peoples Orchestra in 2011, and Regent Community Brass in 2014. Christopher is also involved in music education, having worked with London Philharmonic Orchestra and the BBC in workshops, as well as music services in London and surrounding counties.

David Marley

David started on the cornet at the Salvation Army from an early age before becoming principal trumpet of both Hertfordshire County Brass and the English Schools Orchestra. In 2005 he was a winner of the Band of her Majesty's Welsh Guards soloist competition playing Goedicke's Concert Study and the following year began his studies at Trinity College of Music where he graduated with a first class degree.

Eddie Morgan

Eddie joined Bedfordshire Youth Orchestra where he was lucky enough to be coached by Christopher Larkin and Brendan Thomas. In 2008 he was a member of the World Youth Orchestra and toured Italy and Slovenia and was also the principal horn of the CBSO Youth Orchestra & Academy. After completing his undergraduate degree at the Royal Academy of Music, Eddie was offered a scholarship to attend the Royal College of Music where he completed his masters degree. His studies were funded with generous support from the MBF and Countess of Munster Trust. Eddie frequently performs with a variety of different orchestras and ensembles throughout the UK including; the Philharmonia Orchestra, Dartington Festival Orchestra, Birmingham Festival Orchestra and the Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra. He has also been involved in a number of performances broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and on international radio. Away from the concert hall, Eddie also performs with a number of jazz ensembles; including NYJO and the Engines Orchestra, the latter having released their debut album ‘Lifecycles'. He has also performed alongside electronic/ambient musician Loscil as part of the ‘Possibly Colliding' event at the Barbican. He is also active in brass music; frequently performing with the world famous Oompah Brass and occasionally as a percussionist in the Regent Community Brass Band. Eddie is in demand as an arranger, teacher and conductor. He is heavily involved in music education throughout Bedfordshire and St Albans and has been the Music Director of the Enfield Community Orchestra since 2017.

Haydn Leech

Haydn is the latest addition to J5o Brass having made the brave move to join in 2018. He had previously completed his undergraduate studies in Birmingham followed by a postgraduate course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His experiences as an orchestral player include a time in the CBSO Youth Orchestra with Eddie as well as performing with the Birmingham Festival Orchestra. He is an active performer in many genres away from the concert hall and is no stranger to performing in pubs as part of a Bavarian ensemble or in more traditional function band set-ups. Aside from performing he is also a tech wizard and experienced when it comes to audio and recording equipment as well as website design and different kinds of music software. A true northerner, Haydn has not abandoned his brass band roots and takes time to perform with a variety of bands further south in the London and Southern Counties area.

Patrick Dodds

Patrick learnt his trade as a brass musician through Jersey Premier Brass, where he worked his way up through the ranks and took part in the British contesting tradition. Along side this, Patrick commenced lessons in London thanks to the John Lobb trust with the trumpet Virtuoso Mark Bennett. Patrick gained his BA degree at Chichester University and went on to gain a scholarship to Trinity College of music studying with Brian Thomson and Andy Hendrie. Since completing his studies Patrick has working freelance as a performer and teacher. Patrick is proud to have played with ensembles such as the London Camerate, Pro-Arte Orchestra, Superbrass, NYJO and YMSO amongst many others. He also proud of all his students and enjoys teaching hugely. Aside from music Patrick is a fitness fanatic and still enjoys the odd bit of banding!
