A long-standing member of the small animal team, Beth graduated from Edinburgh in 1993 and joined the practice in 1996 after working in mixed practice in Otley.
Beth is passionate about providing a high standard of veterinary care in general practice. This applies to preventative health care as well as diagnostics and treatment. She has a particular interest in companion animal medicine having gained the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2001 and enjoys keeping up to date with advancements in the management of medical cases and critical care.
Beth is proud to lead a fabulous team of caring professionals and recognises that the well-being of each member of the team is a corner stone of the excellent veterinary care that we provide for our patients.
Beth is married with two sons and a Border Collie. She is an active member of the local triathlon club. As a family the Laycocks enjoy walking, running and climbing in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales as well as travel to other exciting destinations.

Emily is married with two children and enjoys to go on family trips to the beach and camping. She graduated in 2012 from Liverpool university, before working in a mixed practice in Shropshire. She then spent 7 years living and working in South Africa attending to all animals large and small. Emily has returned to Skipton where she was born and raised and enjoys all aspects of small animal practice.

Jan qualified from Bristol University in 1990 and spent 6 years at a mixed practice in Usk, Monmouthshire, where she gained her RCVS certificate in Veterinary Cardiology. In 1996 she moved to Yorkshire where she met her husband. Jan joined the Kingsway team in September 2002 and has a keen interest in all aspects of small animal internal medicine and cardiology. Away from work, Jan enjoys mountain biking with her husband and walking Peggy, their 12 year old Hungarian wire haired vizsla. She is also a keen gardener and enjoys learning Spanish in her spare time!

Melissa completed her Zoology degree before going on to graduate from the University of Bristol in 2019 in Veterinary Science. She spent two and a half years at a mixed practice in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire before finding her way back to Yorkshire. Melissa joined the Kingsway team in December 2021 with a passion for emergency surgery and medicine. She is currently completing a certificate in Emergency Practice. She is married with two cocker spaniels, Hazel and Maple, and loves hiking with them. She also enjoys scuba diving, fitness, travelling and spending time with family.

Susan joined the practice in 2005. Her central role involves managing all the non-clinical aspects of the practice across all four branches. From looking after the recruitment and training of our staff to overseeing the accounts and liaising with all our suppliers, she is a skilled multi-tasker with a warm personality well suited to varied demands of the job.
Susan is married with two grown up children and has a cheeky border terrier named Caleb. She loves to spend her spare time with the family at their caravan in the Lakes where Caleb gets to enjoy lovely long walks in the beautiful countryside.
