Brett Novak

Job Titles:
  • Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations
Brett serves as our Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations. Before joining our team, Brett served as the VP of Sales Pharmaceuticals at Baxter International, where he played a pivotal role in driving sales growth and developing strategic initiatives. Prior to Baxter, Brett held several key leadership positions at Akorn Inc., including Sr. VP of Commercial Operations and Sr. VP of Sales & Marketing. In these roles, he was responsible for overseeing all U.S. commercial functions, including sales, marketing, operations, and contract administration, contributing to Akorn's success and growth. With a Master's in Business Administration from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Science from Northern Illinois University, Brett brings a strong foundation in business and a deep understanding of sales and marketing strategies to Meitheal.

Brian McCarthy

Job Titles:
  • Vice President, Market Access
Brian serves as our Vice President, Market Access. In addition to engaging external stakeholders such as payers and PBMs to optimize patient access to Meitheal's current and future portfolio, Brian facilitates collaboration and strategic alignment across Commercial Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, R&D, and other internal stakeholders to maximize the commercial potential of Meitheal's branded and biosimilar product pipeline. Prior to joining the Meitheal team, Brian was Vice President of Payer Engagement, Pricing, and Contracting at Horizon Therapeutics. Before Horizon, he served as Vice President of Market Access at Lundbeck where he oversaw the National and Regional Account teams, Payer Marketing, Pricing and Contracting, Trade and Distribution, Hub, and Patient Services. Brian has spent the majority of his pharmaceuticals career in the Market Access capacity for companies ranging from start-ups to larger organizations such as Abbott Laboratories. He earned his B.A. in Marketing at Michigan State University.

Diana Ruffolo

Job Titles:

Diana serves as our Vice President of Corporate Projects. She has held various roles at Meitheal since she joined in 2017. Prior to joining our Team, she was Director of National Accounts at Fresenius Kabi, responsible for leading and executing strategic initiatives with Oncology Distributors, Federal Government and 503B Compounding Organizations to drive compliance and growth. She earned her B.A in Business from DePaul University Chicago.

Dr. Jennifer Mokos

Job Titles:
  • Executive Vice President of Operations
Jennifer serves as our Executive Vice President of Operations, she has been with Meitheal since it's inception and has been a key part of the leadership team spearheading all operations including generics and biopharma project management, API sourcing, production and supply chain functions. Previously, she was Sr. Director of Project Management for Sagent Pharmaceuticals, and responsible for product development and drug development partnerships. Prior to her Sr. Director role, she held various positions at Sagent in global alliance management (focusing on commercial supply management), new product launches, and project management. Jennifer started her pharmaceutical career at Hospira, (now Pfizer) as a program manager responsible for international alliances. Before entering the pharmaceutical industry, she was the Chemical Technology Division Manager at Alion Science and Technology, a Department of Defense contractor. She earned her Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry from Purdue University and a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Benedictine University.

Jinsong Liu

Job Titles:
  • Executive Vice President of Regulatory & Strategic Alliances, BioPharma
Jinsong serves as our Executive Vice President of Regulatory & Strategic Alliances, BioPharma. Before joining our team, he was the Senior Vice President of Innovation and Development (US) at Fresenius Kabi. Preceding his tenure at Fresenius Kabi, Jinsong worked at Sagent Pharmaceuticals as a Director of Scientific Affairs and Global Alliance Management. Prior to that, he worked at DSM pharmaceuticals, American Pharmaceutical Partners (APP), Abraxis BioScience and Celgene Corporation, with increased responsibilities. His extensive experience includes (Bio)pharmaceutical product development, technology transfer, regulatory strategy, clinical trials support, pipeline selection, project and alliance management. Jinsong received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, which was followed by several years of academic R&D work on biotechnology and biopharmaceutical development in both Europe and the US.

John Spilman

Job Titles:
  • Vice President of Corporate Strategy
John serves as our Vice President of Corporate Strategy. Previously he held the position of Senior Director of Sales where he developed and then implemented the strategy for Meitheal's focus on contracting the portfolio of products into the top 100 health systems in the United States. Before joining our team, he was Vice President of Business Development at Simple Science, responsible for driving awareness with key life sciences clients to their end customers through focused "in person" and virtual brand engagement. Prior to Simple Science, John was Director of Marketing, Customer Relationship Management at Pfizer (formerly Hospira, Inc.) developing the roadmap and executing strategies on how to best engage with the customer providing a best-in-class experience. John has over 32 years of experience at both medical device (United States Surgical Corporation and Datex-Ohmeda) and pharmaceutical (Abbott Laboratories, Hospira, Pfizer) organizations providing a unique understanding of partnership engagements across the life sciences industry and the end customer.

Larry Madison

Larry serves as our Vice President of Finance, leading the financial planning and analysis, IT, and cash flow planning for Meitheal. Before joining Meitheal Larry worked in various finance and commercial analytics roles at both Xellia Pharmaceuticals and Sagent Pharmaceuticals responsible for financial planning and analysis as well as commercial analytics. Prior to working in the healthcare industry Larry started his career in homebuilding at Pasquinelli/Portrait Homes and in digital textbook publishing at McGraw-Hill Higher Education in various finance roles. He earned B.S. degrees in Accountancy and Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a M.B.A. from DePaul University and is a Registered Certified Public Accountant in the State of Illinois.

Paul Tanaka

Paul serves as our Vice President of Supply Chain. Prior to joining Meitheal, Paul was a Director of Strategy at Treehouse Foods leading SAP and business process integrations. He held other supply chain roles at Treehouse within Production Scheduling, Demand Planning, Distribution Planning, and Customer Logistics. Paul started his career at Nestle, where he held various supply chain roles in Demand Planning, Warehousing, and Industrial Engineering. He earned his B.S. degree in Statistics from the University of Tennessee.

Tom Shea - CEO

Tom is the founding CEO of Meitheal since its inception in 2017. In addition, Tom is also the founding President of Xentria, Inc. a biotech company focused on novel biologics and biosimilars, which was established in April 2020. Prior to joining Meitheal and Xentria, Tom was Vice President of Global Alliance Management for Sagent Pharmaceuticals and was responsible for global partnerships, supply chain and product development. Before his work at Sagent, Tom held various roles at APP, now Fresenius Kabi North America, in Commercial Operations and Business Development, focusing on Portfolio Management and National Accounts. Tom started his pharmaceutical career as a Sales Rep at Fougera, now Sandoz. During his tenure at Fougera, he held positions of increasing responsibilities eventually attaining the position of National Sales Manager. Tom earned an M.B.A. from Notre Dame University and a B.A. in Philosophy from Marquette University.

Victoria Wohlfeil Cherry - Chief Legal Officer, Secretary

Victoria is Meitheal's General Counsel & Corporate Secretary since its inception in 2017. In addition, Victoria is the General Counsel & Corporate Secretary of Xentria, Inc. a biotech company focused on novel biologics and biosimilars, which was established in April 2020. Victoria came to Meitheal from Sagent Pharmaceuticals where she most recently served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Secretary. Prior to joining Sagent, Victoria was in private law practice in Chicago, Illinois. She has experience in acquisitions and dispositions, corporate and security transactions and intellectual property matters, including both domestic and international business transactions, litigation management and regulatory and quality assurance compliance. Victoria earned her J.D. and LL.M in Intellectual Property from the John Marshall Law School and her B.S. in Operations Management & Information Systems from Northern Illinois University.
