Andrew R. Davis

Dr. Davis is a comprehensive ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery, glaucoma, dry eye, eye injuries, eye infections, and laser therapies. Motivated to better his patient's quality of life by improving their vision, Dr. Andrew Rollin Davis completed a fellowship in Cornea, External, and Refractive Surgery at Duke University in Durham, NC. Dr. Davis is a Board-Certified Ophthalmologist.

Dr. Adam Bartnicki

Dr. Bartnicki has extensive training in disease management such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, diabetic eye care, and many others. Dr. Adam Bartnicki grew up around Pittsburgh and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He then went on to earn a Doctorate in Optometry at Nova Southeastern University. While in school, Dr. Bartnicki spent his final year training under nationally renowned eye doctors in Central and Southern Florida. This included ocular disease rotations with Heiden & Heiden and the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. Dr. Bartnicki's commitment to his patients is evident in his extensive training in disease management, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, and diabetic eye care, among others. His expertise also extends to LASIK consultation and cataract co-management, as well as fitting difficult contact lenses such as rigid gas-permeable lenses (RGP) and scleral contact lenses. To ensure he provides the most advanced care, Dr. Bartnicki regularly attends continuing medical and optometric education conferences and workshops throughout the year. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fitness, and spending time with family and friends. Dr. Bartnicki values the importance of getting to know each of his patients on a personal level and accommodating all of their visual needs. He looks forward to meeting you and your family!

Dr. Tommy Dang

Dr. Tommy (Tam) Dang graduated from Rice University with a Bachelor of Arts. He then completed his medical school training at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. His internship and ophthalmology residency training were completed at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium as he began his service with the United States Army. After completing his residency, Dr. Dang was stationed at Fort Bliss, where he was a staff ophthalmologist. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he returned to the Central Texas ophthalmology community by joining a private practice in Round Rock. Dr. Tommy Dang brings a medical philosophy aimed toward personalized patient care and outcome-based surgery. He is a current fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Fredric J. Gross

Dr. Gross, a Cataract and Glaucoma Specialist also diagnoses and treats diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, eye infections, double vision, dry eye, and eye injuries. Dr. Gross is a Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude graduate of Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri. He is also a graduate of Washington University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical school academic honorary society. Dr. Gross completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and his Glaucoma Fellowship at Harvard University's Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Dr. Gross has performed over ten thousand cataract and glaucoma surgeries, making him one of the most experienced surgeons in Eastern Virginia. Along with his partners at Mid-Atlantic Eye Care, he is pleased to offer state-of-the-art computerized diagnostic technology, modern laser therapies, and the newest lens implants to help his patients maintain and improve their vision. In addition, Dr. Gross has recently been certified for LenSx, laser-assisted cataract surgery at the Bon Secours Ambulatory Surgery Center in Virginia Beach. He is also pleased to offer Micro Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) and a variety of other state-of-the-art Glaucoma procedures to his patients. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Gross is also actively involved in the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. In 2016, he was named the Ophthalmology Attending of the Year for the second time in his career. He also presented his research on improving the safety and efficiency of resident cataract surgery at the International Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Gross also diagnoses and treats diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, eye infections, double vision, dry eye, and eye injuries. As part of his commitment to the community, Dr. Gross operates weekly at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Hampton, Virginia, and is a member of the local Lions Club, which provides free eye examinations and eyeglasses to needy patients. In addition, Dr. Gross has published several papers on Cataracts and Glaucoma surgery. Dr. Gross's practice is open to new patients, and he is happy to provide second opinions for surgery or the treatment of eye diseases.

Kristyn Clifton

Dr. Clifton, a Virginia native, earned her degree from The New England College of Optometry and has a particular interest in treating and managing the ocular manifestations of systemic diseases; and is a Fellowship-trained Pediatric Optometrist. Dr. Clifton, a Virginia native, completed her undergraduate degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science. She pursued her doctorate in Boston, Massachusetts, at The New England College of Optometry, where she was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and graduated in 2020. After graduation, she completed one-year primary eye care and ocular disease residency at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA. Dr. Clifton is interested in treating and managing the ocular manifestations of systemic diseases. When not practicing optometry, Dr. Clifton enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two pets. She especially loves being on the beach in the summer and trying new restaurants in coastal Virginia.

Kurt DeVito

Dr. DeVito is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry. He began his optometric career in the U.S. Navy Medical Service Corps where he headed the submarine contact lens program for the Norfolk area. Dr. DeVito served overseas in Jubail, Saudi Arabia with Fleet Hospital Five during Operation Desert Storm. He entered into private practice in 1991. Dr. DeVito specializes in contact lenses, children's vision care, ocular disease and primary eye care. An active member of the Tidewater Optometric Society, the Virginia Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association, he is licensed to treat eye diseases including glaucoma. Dr. DeVito and his wife, Michelle have three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and is an avid golfer.

Richard Martin

Dr. Martin specializes in contact lenses, sports vision and primary eye care. He is also licensed to treat eye infections, eye trauma and diseases including glaucoma. A graduate of the Ohio State University College of Optometry, Dr. Martin has been in private practice with Dr. DeVito since 1994. Dr. Martin served in the U.S.

Stacey Carabello

Dr. Carabello received her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University in Genetics and her Optometry Degree from Southern California College of Optometry. She practiced in Southeast Iowa for five years before moving to Virginia, where she calls home. Dr. Carabello has a passion for comprehensive Optometry, the treatment of Ocular Diseases, and multi-specialty Optometry. Dr. Carabello enjoys traveling, learning to golf, and hanging with friends, family, and her dog in her free time. We are incredibly excited to welcome Dr. Carabello to our practice, community, and Mid-Atlantic Eyecare.

Steven K. Snyder

Dr. Snyder has cataract and general practice, including experience in a range of eye muscle and facial oculoplastic surgical procedures. After graduating with honors from the University of Virginia, Dr. Snyder received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore. He then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. In addition, he subsequently completed a subspecialized Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Snyder has cataract and comprehensive ophthalmology practice, including experience in a range of eye muscle and facial oculoplastic surgical procedures.

Will Sawyer

Dr. Sawyer, a native of Elizabeth City, spent his college years just south of Raleigh, NC, at Campbell University. He then attended and graduated in 2019 from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. During graduation, he was recognized and awarded for Excellence in Clinical Skills. Dr. Sawyer joined Mid-Atlantic Eyecare in April of 2024 and enjoys family eye care, fitting contact lenses (soft, rigid, and specialty), myopia management, managing ocular disease, and dry eye therapy. When not seeing patients, Dr. Sawyer spends time with his wife and children, does CrossFit, or stands in front of a grill or smoker!
