Matt Hunter

Before joining Peters Patchin & Monaghan, Matt worked for the Idaho Office of the Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General in the Contracts & Administrative Law Division. In this varied, high-paced role, Matt advised multiple state agencies, prepared and reviewed contracts and policies, and represented agency staff in dozens of administrative proceedings. Matt joined Peters Patchin & Monaghan because he was attracted to the firm's client-focused model: Clear, concise, personalized legal documents that can be understood by the client; Sound legal advice that seeks to put the client in control of their estate planning; Affordable, flat-rate fees; and The belief that if probate is necessary, every effort should be taken to preserve the estate for the rightful beneficiaries rather than draining the estate in protracted legal proceedings. Before attending law school, Matt spent three years working for the Washington State Senate as the Legislative Assistant to a senior state senator. In this role, he was involved in drafting hundreds of pieces of legislation. A graduate of University of Idaho College of Law, Matt settled in Boise where he met his wife, Emily, a native Idahoan. They are expecting their first child. When not working, Matt enjoys running, hiking, bird hunting, and (perpetually) working on his 1968 VW Beetle ("Red").
