SEAcoin's reputation system is similar to eBay's reputation system in that you are not required to divulge anything about yourself in order to start a profile and do not provide any identification. SEAcoin's reputation system deviates from eBay's in that eBay relies on PayPal to provide KYC services for sellers and merchants where as SEAcoin is permissionless... So who are these validators? They are you, that is to say you could be one of them but it is far from a full time position (there are plenty of other roles if you are interested in staying busy and earning SEAcoin on the SEAcoin Network). Each block in SEAcoin's primary blockchain includes many decisions (among other things) and each decision is made by a group of random people from anywhere on Earth (or wherever) and they do not know who the other validators are. All they know is that if they want to get paid for their contribution to the decision they need to choose in a manner which winds up being the majority decision. And..
