When Southgate Associates was established in 1990, it was solely a conservation engineering practice, but the complex needs of clients, projects and the regulatory environment saw the practice expand in a multi-disciplinary direction, to offer a broad range of heritage conservation services from a team with a diverse set of backgrounds, including engineering, surveying, archaeology, anthropology and planning... At Southgate Associates we believe that conservation and development are compatible philosophies, and have spent 30 years working with building owners to ensure that heritage buildings are adapted and reused in a sympathetic manner.
