Blaise MacDonald, the 2017-18 American Hockey Coaches Association National Coach of the Year for men's hockey, returns as head golf coach for the 2023-24 season. MacDonald has been involved with the Golf program since his arrival to Mayflower Hill in 2012.
MacDonald led the men's hockey team to a New England Small College Athletic Conference title and the NCAA Division III Frozen Four in the 2017-18 season.
As a player, MacDonald was an All-American defenseman and was inducted into the RIT Hall of Fame in 1991. At the time of his graduation, he held RIT records for career assists (106) and points (119) by a defenseman. Prior to being named The Jack Kelley Head Coach for Men's Hockey, MacDonald was an assistant coach at Dartmouth (1986-87), Princeton (1987-88), UMass Lowell (1988-90) and Boston University (1991-96), and a head coach at Niagara (1996-2001), where he compiled an all-time record of 91-58-17 and UMass Lowell (2001-11) with an overall record of 150-178-44.
MacDonald and his wife, Carol, are the parents of four children - sons Cam, Joe, and Jacob, and daughter Carly. Cam and Joe are alumni of Colby, who played four years of hockey for his father.

Eric Harlow enters his fourth year as Colby's Head Coach of Men's and Women's Alpine Skiing with the start of the 2023-24 academic year. Prior to coming to Mayflower Hill, Harlow served as director of alpine programs at Sugar Bowl Academy located in Lake Tahoe. In his more than 20 years of coaching elite athletes, Harlow has developed and led teams and individuals who have consistently excelled at junior levels, top-ranked NCAA teams, the U.S. Ski Team, and international teams.
"Eric has made a significant, positive impact on countless athletes who have competed at the highest levels," said Vice President and Harold Alfond Director of Athletics Mike Wisecup. "He has established himself as a leader in recruiting and coaching alpine skiers competing for regional, national, and international championships. I could not be more excited to have Eric lead our alpine programs in pursuit of an NCAA championship."

Originally hailing from Rangeley, Maine, Hammond treks across the country from Sugar Bowl Academy in Norden, California. For four years he coached both men's and women's groups across all age levels. "I am thrilled to be a member of the Colby community," Hammond states. "To have the opportunity to coach hard working, dedicated student-athletes who have the drive to succeed both athletically and academically at the NCAA level is inspiring."
As a junior racer, Hammond attended Rangeley High School and Carrabassett Valley Academy where he was the Eastern High School Ski Racing Champion. He also excelled in baseball, and pursued a collegiate playing career that first took him to Long Island University (NCAA Division I) before settling at the University of Southern Maine. At USM, his team won the NCAA Division III New England Championship, advancing to eventual be the National Runner-up.
Outside of ski racing, Hammond works as a fly fishing and hunting guide, splitting time in both Maine and Alaska. While in Maine, he makes his home in Rangeley.

Sam Pelletier '09 returned to Colby for the 2022-23 winter season as an Assistant Alpine Ski Coach.
Pelletier previously coached at Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine and The Summit at Snoqualmie in Washington. While at Carrabassett Valley Academy, Sam was selected to coach the Eastern Regional Team at U16 National Championships and assisted with the US Ski Team's spring training camp.
Sam graduated from Colby in 2009 with a BA in History and was a two year member of the Alpine Ski Team. In addition to coaching, Sam was formerly a member of Colby's admissions staff from 2014 to 2018.

Tracey Cote, Colby's head coach of Nordic skiing, is eager to begin working with Harlow to compete in the EISA and at the NCAA Championships. "Eric's experience coaching athletes at the highest level of U.S. skiing will quickly benefit our ski program," Cote said. "He is well known throughout the ski community for his creativity, work ethic, and sustained success at multiple levels."
