Jim took the long road to becoming a retirement planner. He originally earned his bachelor's degree (cum laude) in natural resources from the University of Massachusetts and became a certified arborist. Over time, Jim found he enjoyed a higher level of public service and became a police officer for the city of New Bedford, MA. He also entered graduate school and earned his master's degree (magna cum laude) in criminal justice from Anna Maria College. After serving seven years on the street patrol division and SRT (Special Response Team), Jim suffered an on-duty injury that eventually led to him enrolling in the Financial Planning Program at Boston University in 1995 where he went on to pass the CFP®certification exam - proof that he has met some of the highest educational and ethical standards in the financial planning industry...
