LINCOLN DENTAL ARTS - Key Persons

Dr. Taylor Welborn is a proud graduate of Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. Originally hailing from Ridgeland, Mississippi, he completed his high school education at Ridgeland High School, where he was honored as a Jackson Rotary Club Scholar. Dr. Taylor holds a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, which he earned at the University of Southern Mississippi. He furthered his academic journey by obtaining a master's degree in Biomedical Science from Mississippi College before embarking on his dental school journey. During his time in dental school, he was actively engaged in various aspects of campus life. For all four years, he served as the social chairman of his class, fostering a sense of camaraderie among his peers. He was also an enthusiastic member of several dental organizations, including the American Student Dental Association, Tufts' Implant Club, Academy of Sports Dentistry, Tufts Dental Aesthetics Society, American Academy of Developmental Medicine and Dentistry, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. The decision to return to Hattiesburg upon completing dental school came easily. His years at Southern Miss had deeply ingrained a sense of belonging to this vibrant community. It was here that he truly found his place, and he felt a compelling calling to come back and give back to the community that played a pivotal role in shaping the person he has become today. Dr. Taylor and his cherished companion, dog Bogey, are embracing the charm and experiences that Hattiesburg provides. "Ever since I arrived at USM in 2009, Hattiesburg felt like home. I always knew that I wanted to do something in the medical field. I have also loved being able to create works of art with my hands and express my artistic side, while helping others. Dentistry allowed me to use these skills and give back to the community that molded me into the man and doctor that I am today.", says Dr. Welborn. Beyond his dental profession, Dr. Taylor finds joy in outdoor activities and is an avid participant in local disc golf leagues. He's a passionate supporter of the Golden Eagles and a dedicated sports enthusiast. For Dr. Taylor, it's all about Southern Miss, and he proudly proclaims, "SOUTHERN MISS TO THE TOP!"
