Ben Mansur

Ben works as a GPS Survey Technician and Crew Chief. Ben joined CDP / Mapsync in 2016 and quickly gained valuable field experience in a broad spectrum of survey related projects. Ben now serves as a GPS Survey Technician and Survey crew member. He has continually excelled at conducting fieldwork with Total Stations and GPS equipment in a variety of projects and developed a very extensive and adaptable skill set. Ben is able to plan and execute fieldwork in a manner that is both productive and cost-effective whether working independently or as part of a crew. Ben lives with his family in Harrison County.

Casey Young

Casey works as a software architect and programmer. Casey received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Kentucky in 2006. He has worked with the dedicated people at CDP/MapSync for more than 10 years developing software and web solutions that address the needs of our company and our clients. He loves anything related to technology. Casey lives in Lexington with his wife Macy and his daughter Ryleigh.

David Carter - President

David Carter has served as CDP / MapSync's president and CFO for over 30 years. He brings a unique skill set to guide MapSync into the future. David's 30 years of experience integrating geospatial management and engineering tools, positions MapSync for future growth in asset management, sustainable solutions and innovative design. David is a 1982 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a BSCE in Civil Engineering with high distinction. David is a licensed civil engineer and professional land surveyor. David's engineering experience has focused on storm water management and modeling, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems and site development. Since 1994, David has integrated engineering and GIS into sustainable workflow products for communities, institutions and utilities as the founder of MapSync, a GPS/ GIS product and service-based company. As principle software architect of GeoSync software. (GeoSync, GeoSync XG, GeoSync Cloud) David has an intimate knowledge and understanding of new technologies (cloud and mobile-based applications) and how they can be integrated with design services to provide sustainable solutions. Over the past 25 years, many innovations and technological advancements have occurred in the workplace, David has been a forward-thinking innovator in the development of these products and services into real-world applications. David is committed to producing the highest quality solutions for our current and future clients. David lives in Lexington, Kentucky with his wife Kathy of 30 years and has four children Josh, Jessica, Andrew and Kayla.

Heather Turner

Heather Turner is a GIS Leader and a member of the Solutions Service Team. She provides GIS knowledge and awareness to all projects, colleagues and clients. Her sixteen years of experience in the field of GIS programming, development and management make her a perfect fit for the role. Heather graduated with honors in 1998 from the University of Kentucky, with an MS degree in Forestry with a GIS emphasis. Heather's GIS work experience has focused on a variety of disciplines such as utilities (water, sewer, storm water, electric, and communications), asset and community management, and GIS software development. She has worked with MapSync for the past twelve years. Since 1998 Heather has assisted communities and companies with their GIS-related needs. She has extensive experience in sustainable solutions and workflows that promote GIS and its use as a viable tool in every community. She is committed to providing those communities with the support needed to initiate and maintain their GIS efforts. Heather is from Nicholasville, Kentucky where she lives with her husband, Sean and her two daughters, Katie and Abby.

Jeremy Butler

Jeremy Butler works as Field Crew Party Chief. He has worked in the Survey Group for over 10 years gaining experience in conventional survey, RTK survey, and GPS/GIS mapping. Jeremy Butler was hired as a rodman and survey technician and quickly advanced to instrument man and now serves as Field Crew Party Chief. Jeremy has continually excelled at conducting fieldwork with Total Stations and GPS equipment. He is also proficient with AutoCAD, LiDAR, GIS and new technologies. Jeremy has extensive experience dealing with construction layout services including coordinating with contractors, preparing data sets, field calculations and preparing exhibits and reports. Jeremy is able to plan and execute fieldwork very efficiently and with little supervision. Jeremy's expertise is certainly an asset to MapSync. Jeremy lives in Georgetown, Kentucky with his family.

Joel Cook

Joel Cook is the IT Manager/Engineering Technician for CDP / Mapsync. Since 1999, he has served in this capacity being responsible for maintaining the firm's network infrastructure and serves as AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation V8i support. Joel has worked in the field of engineering for over 40 years. Joel is from Frankfort and resides in Lexington, Kentucky.

Katie Berry

Job Titles:
  • GIS Specialist
Katie Berry is a GIS Specialist and a member of the Solution Service team. Katie is a 1995 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a BS in Psychology. For the past 20 years she has worked in both the mapping and surveying communities. Before coming to CDP/ MapSync in 2000, Katie worked for a land surveying firm for 5 years. She has worked in many different areas of the company. She is proficient with GPS, GIS, and traditional land surveying practices. As a project manager, she has utilized her experience and skills to capture, process, analyze, and maintain dynamic data sets. As one of the founding members of the MapSync technical support team for both phone and email technical assistance, she has assisted numerous individuals and agencies in being successful with their mapping projects. She is a compulsive traveler and an avid gardener, with a particular passion for the preservation of native Kentucky plants.

Lewis Dixon - VP

  • Co - Founder and Vice President of Operations for CDP Engineers
Lewis is the co-founder and Vice President of Operations for CDP Engineers / MapSync. He is a 1984 graduate of the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering. Lewis is a Professional Civil Engineer and a Professional Land Surveyor. His experience includes transportation, wastewater collection systems, water distribution systems, utilities, site development and all types of surveys. Since 1989, when CDP Engineers was first established, Lewis has had a few different responsibilities. Initially, he headed up CDP's Surveying Department for approximately 7 years. He then served as CDP's President for 15 years. Most recently, he has gotten back closer to projects and supporting CDP's Group Managers, by serving as VP of Operations. He has always thoroughly enjoyed the business development aspect of the business. He loves winning new clients and then getting to know them more closely over the years in an effort to serve them better. Having co-founded CDP, his ultimate passion is for CDP to be the ‘Best in our World'. Lewis is a native of Western Kentucky in White Plains, Hopkins County. He now lives in Nicholasville with his wife and is the proud father of two sons, Noah and Jonah. He enjoys outdoor adventures, such as hiking, zip-lining, exploring, golfing, camping, fishing, hunting and traveling.

Morey Lampson

Morey Lampson is a licensed civil and sanitary engineer. Mr. Lampson started his water and wastewater design career in 1976, and has extensive experience in the planning, design, and management of wastewater conveyance and treatment systems. As a senior engineer, he is responsible for sanitary engineering projects including preparation of feasibility studies, master plan studies, process evaluation studies, cost estimating, wastewater facilities planning, O&M manuals, wastewater collection, pumping and treatment facilities design, management of federally assisted water quality projects and management of construction projects.

Pat Bullock

Pat Bullock is the Campus Mapping and Lidar project manager. Mr. Bullock is a 2001 graduate of the University of Kentucky Landscape Architecture program and has worked as a project manager in both engineering and construction. Patrick has over 25 years of experience with master planning and design activities. He is proficient in roadway design as well as stormwater management and terrain modeling. Patrick has many years of experience providing graphics for visualization for a variety of clients. He most recently came from a construction background, where he gained many certifications that include KEPSC inspector qualification, OSHA 10 hour, traffic control supervisor, traffic control flagger trainer and MSD and KY EPSC certifications. Patrick is proficient in the use of several types of surveying equipment, including Conventional, Robotic and Global Positioning Systems equipment. His skills include extensive experience with construction staking and construction management.

Reda Smith

Reda Smith has been a member of the Geomatics Group at CDP/ MapSync for the past 19 years. She currently serves as Senior Staff Surveyor and Easement Development Coordinator and fully embraces the vision of providing sustainable solutions through integrating conventional surveying and mapping practices with new technology. Reda graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1974 with a Bachelor of Social Work degree. She entered the Land Surveying profession in 1981 and became a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in 1996. Reda, in her role as Easement Development Coordinator, has integrated traditional surveying techniques with state-of-the-art mapping/CADD technology, Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) tools and resources to achieve levels of quality, consistency and efficiency previously unattainable. Reda is committed to creating the highest quality solutions which benefit the client and protect and serve the public interest. Reda lives in downtown Lexington, Kentucky, with her husband of 32 years, Ron Householder.

Richard Hall

Richard Hall is a native of Murray, Kentucky, and is a 1975 graduate of the University of Missouri-Rolla. He has also spent time working towards his Masters in Civil Engineering - Structures at the University of Idaho. Richard obtained his Professional Engineer's license in 1981 and he has 39 years of experience in the engineering, construction, and coal industries. Following graduation, Richard spent eleven years in the coal industry, including five years with the Kentucky Department of Surface Mining in the Operations & Enforcement Branch. He then spent a couple of years working in the construction industry before beginning his career in the engineering industry in 1990. In 1992, Richard began working on Kentucky Transportation Cabinet projects and has continued since that time working on KYTC projects, giving him nearly 24 years of KYTC experience. His KYTC experience includes Rural and Urban Roadway design for major Kentucky projects. Richard is thoroughly familiar with KYTC's Highway Design Manual, AASHTO's Geometric Design Manual, Roadway Design, Context Sensitive Design, and the latest versions of MicroStation and InRoads software applications. Richard's design experience includes new route construction, grade separated interchanges, urban intersections, bridge replacements, and FEMA drainage studies. Richard enjoys reading and working with electronics and woodworking projects, in his free time. He is also a member of American Society of Civil Engineers.

Ron Householder

Ron Householder former MapSync President has been a Senior GIS Consultant and manager of the MapSync Solutions Service Team for over 30 years. Mr Householder brings years of experience in the Land Surveying, GIS and integrating geospatial management and engineering surveying operations. Ron attended the University of Kentucky and holds licenses and certifications as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS), GIS Professional (GISP) and Floodplain Manager (CFM). He is active in a number of professional organizations having served as President of both the Indiana-Kentucky-Ohio Geospatial Information Association (IKO/GITA) and the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP). He currently serves on the KAMP Mapping Sciences committee and the Commercial Mobile Radio System's (CMRS) Next Generation 911 GIS Working Group. Since 1994, Ron has integrated surveying, engineering and GIS to create sustainable, workflow oriented products and services for communities, institutions and utilities. He has a detailed knowledge and understanding of new technologies (cloud and mobile-based applications) and how they can be applied to provide functional and sustainable solutions. Over the past 25 years, as many innovations and technological advancements have occurred in every aspect of our personal and professional lives, Ron has been at the forefront in the integration of new technologies and services into the solution of real-world problems. Ron lives in historic downtown Lexington, Kentucky with his wife, Reda Smith, and cultivates orchids as a hobby.

Steve Green

Steve Green is the Survey Group Manager at CDP / Mapsync. He started with CDP in 1992 in an entry level position and has worn many hats during his twenty-seven years with the firm. As CDP has grown and become more diverse, so has Steve's experience and skill set. As Survey Manager, he is responsible for all survey and mapping projects for clients in the public and private sector. Mr. Green is a 1982 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University with a BA degree in Broadcasting. Steve is a licensed professional land surveyor in the State of Kentucky. He has completed the 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) course and is a member of the Ky. Association of Professional Land Surveyors (KAPS). Steve is proficient in the use of a variety of surveying equipment including both conventional and GPS devices. His adaptability is critical to the success of field operations whether collecting data, mapping site improvements or providing construction layout. He consistently searches for new and innovative techniques and methods to improve the deliverables provided to our clients.

Todd Williams

Job Titles:

Todd Williams is a GIS Consultant with the CDP / Mapsync Services Team. Todd is a University of Kentucky graduate with a degree in Architectural Technology, holds a GISP certification, and is an active member of the Kentucky Association of Mapping Professionals (KAMP). Prior to CDP he developed and managed the CAD system for Commonwealth Technology, Inc. and was an architectural CAD technician/designer for Jerrico, Inc. Mr. Williams has 30 years of experience in the architectural, land surveying, civil engineering, and mapping fields. He has extensive experience in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Global Positioning Systems (GPS), mobile data communication, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) including: AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS by Esri, and Quantum GIS (QGIS). He is a founding member of CDP Engineers and MapSync and was responsible for the initial creation and management of the company's Technical Support Group and Training curriculum. Mr. Williams has hands on experience with comprehensive geographic information systems, including: needs assessment, hardware, software, and data acquisition, database design, system integration, mapping application software development, workflow design and implementation, GPS data collection and processing, integration, data creation and maintenance, quality assurance, cartography, dissemination and presentation. He has utilized his GIS experience for State and local government agencies including Utilities, Property Valuation, Planning, Public Works, Engineering, Public Health, County Clerks, and Road Departments. He has also specialized in providing GIS solutions for Public Safety, including: E911 Mapping and Addressing; integrated mobile mapping, data and AVL systems for Law Enforcement, Fire and EMS; Emergency Management; and Fire Pre-planning. Todd lives in Madison County Kentucky with his wife Melba and two children Lauren and Evan.
