MR DOVE'S MUSIC - Key Persons
Jamie Dove has been teaching and performing in the Plymouth area since 1983. He graduated from Dartington College of Arts in 1986 with an Honours degree and went on to complete a Post Graduate Certificate of Education at Plymouth University. Jamie regularly performs with several, local groups and organisations including Plymouth Symphony Orchestra, Big bands and jazz bands and also more Popular/Rock style bands such as Joey The Lips.
Jamie has recently acquired Russ Davies Music Schools which was established in 1992. Russ is a good friend and also has many years experience teaching beginners to advanced musicians and established the longest serving music tuition service in the city of Plymouth.
In 1972, Russ Davies began his teaching career at the Royal Marines School of Music, Deal, Kent. After leaving the service he taught at Dartington College of Arts, took up a teaching post with the Cornwall Music Service and subsequently went on to setting up his own teaching studio in Ivybridge in 1992 and later expanding to Plymouth in 1995.
Our exam results are outstanding with a 100% pass rate over the past 15 years with over 2700 students. Here at Mr Dove's music we fully intend to maintain that high level record of success. However, although exams are not seen as a complete necessity for the student's learning, they do cover a good repertoire of stylised pieces that gives an indication of a students progress and level of ability. Exams are not compulsory but having fun whilst learning is!!
