PASERENE - Key Persons
Born in the small town of Ashton, Martin is a third generation wine-maker, whose passion was ignited through the influence of his father and grandfather. Soon after birth, Martin's family moved to Worcester where his father started a wine bottling plant. He describes his upbringing as "innocent", where he and his siblings spent days riding horses and biking, while sitting around the kitchen table in the evenings listening to stories of wine-making. It was then, at the early age of 13 that Martin knew he wanted to make wine.
Stephanie Duval, our General Manager, is responsible for the Paserene Lifestyle brand and tasting lounge experiences. Stephanie is French-speaking with a solid background in business management and manages all our departments, the vineyards and the tasting lounge in Franschhoek with Ndabe Mareda and Martin Smith. She has been an expert in the wine industry for several years and is passionate about wine. She admires South African wines greatly and believes there is excellent potential for our wine industry. The climate is perfect for growing vineyards and offers a diverse range of varietals from which to choose.
