Scoil Mhuire was founded in 1951 by the late Miss Katherine M. Cahill, M.A., Miss O'Donovan, M.A and Miss Joan O'Donovan, M.A (who later joined the Dominican Order). The school opened at 2 Sidney Place with seventy pupils aged from nine to seventeen years... In studies, Scoil Mhuire aims at the highest academic standards, while always valuing and promoting the varying gifts of individual pupils. We want to make learning a stimulating process at every stage, opening new vistas of discovery, offering new skills, and helping pupils to form disciplined habits of work... Most importantly as a Catholic School we try to live by our convictions. An intelligent understanding of the faith, and putting it into practice both as individuals and as part of the school community, makes us grateful for what we have been given and considerate towards others; and this is at the foundation of that atmosphere of friendship which has been a characteristic of the school from its very beginning.
