Aaron Dearth

A lifelong Richland County resident, Aaron is dedicated to bringing something back to his community. Selecting a career in Architecture in early high school, Aaron focused his courses on drafting and computer technologies. Realizing a future focus on technology, he trained as a network administrator and helped implement his school districts first computer network system. In 1999 he was accepted to the School of Architecture at Kent State University where he received his Bachelors and Masters degree. Beginning a career in Architecture in Mansfield, Ohio, Aaron worked at Steve Beilstein Architect and Construction Management as a Project Manager, Designer, & Draftsman. In a design-build setting he was instrumental in bringing projects from initial concept through final construction. While there, his computer experience was vital in producing rapid and detailed designs for clients including digital renderings and presentations. In the summer of 2013, Aaron brought his education and experience to Simonson Construction Services and joined our team as a Project Manager and Designer. He continues to try and support his community by volunteering web and graphics design and has been a proud foster parent and supporter of children's causes.

Amanda Rogers

After receiving her Associate's Degree in Accounting from North Central State College in 2000, Amanda went on to graduate from Ashland University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management in 2005. During her college career and for a few years after college, Amanda worked at a public accounting firm, Frank, Seringer & Chaney, as a Staff Accountant. After seven years in public accounting, Amanda wanted to explore a career in private accounting. She worked for Busson Photography in Barberton, Ohio as Assistant Controller for two years, before joining Simonson Construction Services in 2009. Her responsibilities at Simonson's include the accounting for each project and assists in various other functions as needed.

Bill Millott

For two years Bill served in the Army as a light and heavy vehicle mechanic, then worked locally at Harpster Transfer, also for two years before being called again to active duty with his National Guard Unit. He then served in Desert Storm for a year as a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic. After returning home he continued his career as a mechanic, taking on diesel engine and heavy vehicle repair. He continued to further his skills by enrolling in "Mack" training courses that familiarized him with chassis electrical, air brake systems, and Mack engine diagnosis/repair. Bill came to Simonson Construction Services in 1998 where he became our shop foreman and equipment manager. Bill performs major repairs, equipment purchases and sales. With his can-do attitude, Bill is an asset to our well-rounded team of service-oriented professionals.

Bob Simonson - Founder

Bob began his construction career as a carpenter in 1970. While employed by a variety of general contractors, he worked on projects ranging from residential to heavy commercial. He attended the Carpenter's Apprenticeship program in Richland County and received his journeymen's card in 1974. During that same year, in a depressed commercial market, he formed Simonson Builders, Inc. as a quality-focused residential contractor. In 1982, as a response to the demands of his clients and the construction market in general, Bob expanded into commercial construction including pre-engineered metal building structures, industrial and municipal excavation projects and full-service site development. Today, Bob's desire is for his company to maintain and continue improvement in the marketplace. He consults with his partners on specific company business as needed. The day-to-day operation of the company has been turned over to trusted and capable company officers. Bob's years of extensive experience, both working for and managing, growing and diversifying companies, employing dedicated and loyal professionals, uniquely qualifies his companies to provide the broad range of construction services necessary for the successful, timely completion of any construction project.

Chad Emmons

From an early age, Chad knew he wanted to be in construction and came to work part time for Simonson Construction Company in 1999. As a field laborer, he attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 2004 with a degree in construction. In January 2005, he became assistant superintendent and quickly moved into the position of a field superintendent. Through all his hard work and dedication, Chad moved into the Project Manager position in April, 2017. With a vast amount of experience from the field and his superintendent skills, he has a promising future and is an asset to Simonson Construction Services, Inc.

Colton Mowry

Dan Moore - President

Prior to graduating from Ohio Northern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology, Dan began his construction career in 1986 as a carpenter for Simonson Construction Services, Inc. After graduation in 1990, he rejoined the company and entered a Project Management position in addition to learning the estimating duties required by the expanding business. Dan oversees the operation of the company as well as the direction into the future. Dan remains close to the estimating activities and builder's division field staff. In 2012, Dan was promoted to President of Simonson Construction Services, Inc. In this role, he is involved in all aspects of the company operations and planning. Dan's construction career has been molded by Simonson Construction Services, Inc. His capability, enthusiasm, and dedication have elevated him to an integral position of responsibility essential to the continued success of this Company.

Dan Smith - EVP, VP

Dan's experience in construction began when he was facility and construction manager for Wil Research Laboratories in Ashland, Ohio. During their Facility Improvement Program in the early 1990's, Dan oversaw the 13 million-dollar expansion program on behalf of Wil Research. This experience convinced Dan to pursue a career in the construction industry. In 1997, Dan left Wil Research and joined Jennings and Churella Construction Company in Wellington, Ohio as a Project Manager. While at Jennings and Churella, Dan managed various commercial projects totaling more than 50 million dollars. In 2000, Dan joined the Simonson Companies as a project manager in the Builders Division. His successful management of several large industrial projects proved that he had the skills Mr. Simonson was looking for to head up the management of the Excavation Division. In 2002, Dan became Senior Manager of the Excavation Division where he oversee's all estimating, project management and scheduling activities. In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President and became a partner in the firm.

Doug Beattie

Doug has been with Simonson Construction Services since May of 2001. Beginning as a laborer, his hard work and dedication has led him to a Field Superintendent/Operator Role.

Dustin Beattie - VP

Dustin came to Simonson Construction Services, Inc. directly from the Construction Sciences program at the University of Cincinnati where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Management. While at Cincinnati Dustin held various supervisory positions as an intern on several multi-million dollar projects in the Cincinnati area, including the University's Tangemann University Center that was part of the 250 million dollar campus improvement initiative. Dustin's education in the classroom and on the jobsite brings a fresh perspective to the Simonson team. His multifaceted exposure to the business of construction is a valuable benefit to him and to Simonson Construction Services, Inc.

E. Mike Lukuch

Mike received his formal education in the Bachelor of Architecture program at Kent State University. His experience at the University gave him the itch to get into the business of translating concepts into bricks and mortar. He joined Joseph Ferut and Associates, Architects in 1994 as a design assistant. In 1998, Mike moved to Jennings and Churella Construction in Wellington, Ohio as a project designer in a design/build construction company. He found that he enjoyed the design/build method of project delivery and moved to Simonson Construction Services, Inc. in 2001 as lead designer. Mike's architectural style and his ability to tap into a client's mental image is truly an asset for Simonson Construction Services, Inc. That capacity along with his management of our computer systems and software keep us headed in the right direction.

Jason Chio

Jason's career in construction started at an early age working on weekends for his father in a family owned steel erecting and rigging company. After high school he began working for the family business part time while attending college at The Ohio State University/Agricultural Technical Institute where he received an Associates' Degree in Construction Technology. Following college he worked his way up through the ranks of the construction field starting at the bottom and eventually working his way up to Crew Foreman. After about 10 years working in the field, he moved into the office where he has held numerous jobs such as estimator, operations manager, account manager and ultimately to president/owner. In 2018, Jason decided to move into the Safety Director position at Simonson Construction Services, Inc. He uses his many years of construction experience to keep our employees safe and compliant using a practical hands on approach. Jason has served on the boards of the Associated Builders and Contractors at both the North Florida Chapter, as well as, Northern Ohio where he spent two years as chairman. He has also served nationally for ABC on their nominations committee and on the Metal Building Council in which he served as chair. In 2014, he turned his focus more local and was elected to the Hillsdale Local Schools Board of Education and in 2015 was appointed to the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center Board of Education. When Jason is not at work he enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys. He and his family attend the Jeromesville United Methodist church. A big part of his personal time is spent giving back to the community he lives in which he does through his church, scouting and the local schools.

Jeff "Bodine" Moody

In 1985, Jeff, better known as "Bodine" joined Simonson Excavation. During those early years, Bodine proved to be a tireless worker honing his skills in the area of site preparation, mass excavation and fine grading. Today, Bodine is well respected for his knowledge of material characteristics and means and methods required to complete a project efficiently.

Jennifer Hinton

Always being a creative person, Jenny majored in advertising, marketing and public relations at Youngstown State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. From college she went to work for a company in Shelby, Ohio - Miami Systems. There she was a project manager for various accounts where they printed everything from customer invoices each month to the tax booklets and forms we receive at tax time. Miami Systems eventually closed their doors.

Mark Hawley

Mark's construction experience began at a young age working for a family-owned business part-time through high school. Following high school he attended Ohio State University's Agriculture Management, Associate Degree Program in 1987-1988. After completing the program and working in its related field for five years, in 1993, he returned to the Ashland area and started working full-time in the family contracting business. In March of 1994, he joined Simonson Construction Services, Inc. as a finish carpenter. In the winter months of 1997 and 1998, Mark continued his education through evening classes at North Central Technical College in Mansfield, Ohio, studying business management and Computer Aided Drafting (CAD). In January 1999, he accepted the promotion to job superintendent and was given the task of constructing our largest and most challenging residential project to date. In October 2001, Mark accepted the promotion to Project Manager. With all of Mark's experience in the field, his education, and superior management skills, he'll only continue to improve in his current role as Project Manager.

Matt Bisesi

During college, Tim went to work for a residential construction company in New Jersey. As he learned the trade, he decided that construction is what he wanted to do. After a year in New Jersey he returned to Ohio and worked for a local construction company for four years, then decided to start his own construction company. Eagle Construction was then developed and he managed his own residential construction company for 10 years. Within those years, he also worked for Simonson Construction Services as a subcontractor on various projects. In 2006, he decided to come to work for Simonson Construction Services full time. He has since become a great asset to our team, bringing valuable knowledge and know-how to our projects and leaving behind pleased customers. Matt joined Simonson Construction Services, Inc. in 2014.

Mindy Mendenhall

Mindy came to Simonson Construction Services in 1993 after graduating from Ashland University with a BSBA degree in Accounting and Finance. Under the direction of Mr. Simonson and an outside accounting firm, Mindy rebuilt the accounting means and methods used by Simonson Construction Services. Employing Timberline Software and a cost coding schedule she developed, she is able to provide accurate, up to the minute cost reports, labor hour reports, subcontract percentage of completion, retainage position, and overall project status reports. In 2002, Mindy completed the Master's Degree program at Ashland University receiving a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA). Mindy is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the accounting systems used at Simonson Construction Services, Inc. Her knowledge of the business of construction and her awareness of the unique challenges of construction accounting make her an integral asset of the Simonson team.

Rick Pasa

Rick's construction experience began in the early 1980's when he was a construction laborer for a family-owned business. After completing multiple drafting, design, and CAD courses, his career direction became clear. In 1984 he began working at Richard Sly Architect Inc. in Lorain, Ohio as a draftsperson. Rick's design experience ranges from residential to institutional projects, but the real substance of his design career began in 1986 when he joined Jennings and Churella Construction Company in Wellington, Ohio. As Senior Designer at J & C he was responsible for the design and production of site development, foundation systems, and architectural and structural construction documents. He was also responsible for the preparation of all applications and drawings covered under the Ohio EPA General Permit Storm Water Pollution Prevention Act. In 1999 Rick joined R.E. Warner & Associates in Westlake, Ohio as a senior project designer. He then joined Simonson Construction Services Inc. in 2000 and is currently the design department manager. With Rick's extensive CAD knowledge and two decades of construction and design related experience, he has become the final missing piece of the multi-faceted Simonson puzzle.

Shaun has been with Simonson Construction Services since June of 1995. Beginning as a laborer, his hard work and dedication has led him to a Field Superintendent/Operator Role.

Shaw Rader - VP

While majoring in Construction Management at Ohio State University, Shaw began his construction career as a general laborer for Mansfield Asphalt for three summers working on various crews. In the spring of 2002, he served an internship with Simonson Construction Services, Inc. working primarily in estimating. He then proceeded in the summer of 2003 working as a general laborer for Simonson's. In December of 2003, Shaw graduated from Ohio State with a degree in Construction Management and soon after came to work fulltime as an Estimator/Project Manager. Shaw can look forward to a rewarding career in the construction industry.

Tom Burrer

In 1995, Tom jumped into construction right out of high school. He joined Advanced Tech Builders in Grafton, Ohio as a residential carpenter. That experience exposed him to all aspects of the carpentry trade from rough carpentry to cabinetry. In 2000, Tom came to Simonson Construction Services, Inc. with new ideas and a fresh outlook. He quickly moved through the ranks and was promoted to superintendent in May of 2003. Tom's trademark is that he works quietly and efficiently. His projects are completed without dispute or disturbance and when he decides the project is done to his satisfaction, we are confident that the client will agree.

Vince Hartzler

Vince began his career in construction in 1996 as a laborer for a commercial construction company where he worked on various aspects of a construction project from sitework to steel erection. He graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in Construction Engineering Technology. He took a position as a Project Manager/Estimator where he ran projects including grocery store renovations, schools and various government projects. Vince returned to college taking classes in the evenings and earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance through Walsh University. It was during this time that he focused his career on estimating. He has been involved in the estimating of projects ranging from pre-engineered manufacturing facilities, offices, renovations, medical office facilities and multi-phase school district projects. In 2016, Vince joined Simonson Construction Services, Inc. as part of our estimating department. His education and experiences will be put to good use and we are excited to have him as a part of our team!
