Dr Joseph Simonetti

Dr Joseph Simonetti grew up in West Hempstead, New York and attended the University of Hartford where he was the first student to be selected to dental school after college. He graduated from the University of West Virginia School of Dentistry in 1973. Soon after, he partnered with Dr Robert Teisch and they opened a new office at 117 West Main St, East Islip in 1978. Dr Joe was a mentor to one young patient in particular, Robert Domozych, who went to dental school and eventually became a partner in the practice. Soon later, Robert's brother Richard joined the practice, followed by Dr Joe's sons: Scott, Stephen, and Michael. Dr. Joe's daughter Sara is beginning her journey to also follow in her family's footsteps to become a dentist. In 2006 the practice of Simonetti and Domozych proudly moved next door to our brand-new office at its present location at 127 West Main St. Dr Joe has been serving the East Islip and surrounding communities for over 50 years. He is an avid golfer and can be frequently seen in his golf knickers and matching golf shoes. Dr Joe has been an accomplished artist for over half a century and many of his works of art can be seen hanging on the walls of the dental office. He is the father of five boys and one daughter. His four sons are Scott, Marc, Dean, Stephen and Michael and his daughter is Sara. Dr Joe and his wife Laura enjoy boating and spending time with friends.

Dr. Scott Simonetti

Dr. Scott Simonetti was born in West Virginia while his father was attending West Virginia University School of Dentistry in 1973. He grew up in Great River, New York and attended East Islip High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from Cornell University and then attended the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where he earned his D.D.S. degree in 2001. Dr. Scott immediately joined the Simonetti & Domozych DDS practice in 2001 and has been proudly serving the community since. Dr. Scott is so passionate about his community and the health of us all as a society that it led him to discover a common health issue amongst our population, which he believes to be greatly affecting the health of people. The major issue he found in common to the vast majority of people with health concerns is a lack of high quality sleep. This led him to design and develop a US and International patent and FDA cleared oral orthotic device to help treat this issue amongst many other issues, The device has come to be known as the POD®. Dr. Scott has also had a total of four other patents under his name that are planned to help his community in the near future. Dr. Scott has lectured at multiple continuing education programs and has appeared on national radio programs and blogs, discussing nitric oxide, mitochondria, intermittent hypoxia, disordered breathing and TMJ dysfunction. He has presented research to the Department of Defense at Ft Detrick, Maryland and at the Military System Health Research Symposium in Kissimmee, Florida. While not treating patients, or reviewing research articles on PubMed, Dr. Scott enjoys spending time with his four young girls and his wife Leah.

Richard Domozych

Dr. Rich Domozych was born and raised in East Islip, New York and graduated from East Islip High School. He studied at Stony Brook University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1989. Dr. Rich attended Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia Dental School and earned his D.D.S. degree in 1993. Dr. Rich began practicing dentistry as an associate of Dr. Charlie Wright in Charleston, West Virginia before returning to NewYork and joining the Simonetti & Domozych DDS practice in 1996. Dr. Rich is grateful to serve patients in the community in which he grew up for more than 30 years. Dr. Rich lives in Oakdale with Patrice, his wife of 25 years. They have three boys; Thomas, Michael and James. Dr. Rich loves to spend free time with them skiing in Vermont, boating, and fishing.

Stephen Simonetti

Dr. Stephen John Simonetti was born and raised in East Islip and graduated from East Islip High School in 2011. He then went on to attend James Madison University and received a B.S. in Biology. Following this he attended VCU School of Dentistry and received a DDS degree. He then completed a 1 year AEGD dental residency program In Tucson Arizona. During this residency he treated members of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe and got specialized training in Implants and many other surgical procedures. He joined the Simonetti & Domozych DDS practice in October of 2021 and has been working here since. Dr. Stephen is very passionate about providing individualized and top of the line care for his community. He works tirelessly to stay up to date with the technology and techniques in order to deliver the best care for all of his patients. He takes pride in being able to help every patient either maintain or restore their smile in order to feel confident in life and live their life to the fullest. The areas of dentistry he has a focus on include, Cosmetic dentistry, Implant dentistry, complex treatment planning and restorations, and oral disease prevention. In his free time he is a very avid golfer and plays in amateur competitions. He also enjoys eating healthy, working out, athletics, ecommerce, and quality time with friends and loved ones.
