VIKING

Members of Y Ddraig come from many walks of life and range in age, from member's own small children to the over 60's. As the crew of a Viking longship, many of our younger members portray warriors and oarsmen, but we also have our important camp followers, such as the craftsmen, wives and children. Although based in Stoke-on-Trent, we have members from Cheshire, south Staffordshire and Derbyshire... We are a Stoke-on-Trent based re-enactment group aiming to recreating a Viking longship's crew of the 10-11th Century. The group was initially formed in the early 1980's and has been going ever since... Y Ddraig is a Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire based Viking re-enactment group focused on recreating a longship's crew of the 10-11th Century. We put on re-enactment events for the public, often including a living history setup that recreates a traditional Viking camp during a war campaign. Events also include weapons displays and the public favourite, large scale Viking re-enactment..
