WEMS Inc. is an emergency ambulance servi ce, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, has the duty and privilege to provide emergency care to our sick and injured residents and guests in the Town of Wells. Our emergency calls are answered by our 911 Wells Police Emergency Communications Center; if you are not sure an ambulance is necessary call 911... WEMS operates 3 ambulances and has approximately 40 part-time employees. Steve Merrill is the Interim Director of WEMS and oversees the day-to-day operations of the service. The nature of our business demands teamwork. Our employees are highly skilled Emergency Medical Technicians, who are licensed by the State of Maine Emergency Medical Services...
