Joe's broad range of experience makes him well suited for projects of any size. As a Landscape Architect for fifteen years, he brings creative concepts to reality through hand graphics, digital 3D schematic design, and effective on-site collaboration.
Throughout his career, Joe has designed unique outdoor spaces from large scale mountain resorts in California and British Columbia, to intimate coastal gardens of New England. At every scale and environment, his designs seek to combine native plants and materials with a modern and functional aesthetic.
Joe earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture and Horticulture from the University of Connecticut in 2005. Prior to forming West Workshop, Joe practiced as Project Manager at Anne Penniman Associates, Project Landscape Architect at BL Companies, and Designer with California-based Integrated Design Studio. At each of these firms he collaborated with award-winning architects, engineers, and contractors.
When he's not creating, Joe enjoys mountain biking and exploring the woods and world with his wife and two curious kids.
