Dr. Joel M. Ward has been the pastor of Calvary Baptist Church since 2002, however, he and his wife, Cara, have faithfully served this ministry since the mid-1980's.
Dr. Ward graduated from Massillon Baptist College in Massillon, OH in 1988 with a Bachelor of Divinity, Cara graduated the same year as the class Valedictorian with a Bachelor of Religious Education. They both joined the staff of the Calvary Baptist Church and Calvary Academy in May of 1988. Dr. Ward received his Master of Religious Education and Doctor of Ministry from

James M. Ward grew up here at Calvary Baptist Church. He and his wife, Courtney, have faithfully served this ministry since the mid-2000's.
Pastor Ward graduated from Calvary Academy in 2012. He went on and graduated from Butler County Community College in Butler, PA in 2014 with an Associates in Business Administration. Pastor Ward received his Bachelor of Biblical Studies in 2016 from Baptist College of America, Kokomo, IN. His wife Courtney graduated from Calvary Academy in 2013 and went on to Butler County Community College to pursue a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. She graduated from BC3 in 2016.
Pastor Ward grew up in a Christian home as a pastor's son. At only a few days old he was in church and attended Calvary Academy from K4 through 12th grade. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the young age of 4 on October 4, 1998. He felt the call to preach and surrendered to do so on February 11, 2018. Having grown up in a pastor's home, Pastor Ward understands and has a real heart for ministry.
Courtney also came from a Christian home and she received Christ at the young age of nine; she has endeavored to live for Him her whole life. She also attended Calvary Academy from K4 through 12th grade.
Pastor and Mrs. Ward were married July 22, 2016 at Calvary Baptist Church. They now have a little girl and baby boy. They are looking forward to how God plans to use them within the ministry here.
