Alice Bradley

Job Titles:
  • Finance Manager
Alice has been working at Harmoni since 2017 as the organisations finance manager. Her role involves looking after and overseeing the finances of the organisation. Before working at Harmoni Alice was a chartered accountant for a practice firm in Belfast. In her spare time Alice enjoys running and playing football. She also coaches' football for the DC Diamonds.

Brian Lavery

Job Titles:

  • Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Surveyors
Brian is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Surveyors and has 40 years' experience in Commercial Property both in London and for the past 30 years in Northern Ireland. He currently heads a team of 40 professionals as Managing Director of CBRE Northern Ireland. His family have been involved in the Private Care Sector providing Domiciliary and Residential/Nursing care both in Northern Ireland and Wiltshire England. He has been Board Member of Harmoni since 2019.

David McIlhagger

David has been on the board of Harmoni since 2010. David has a background in electrical engineering and power generation and was elected a Fellow of the Irish Academy of Engineering in 2000. He joined the board of Harmoni following an illustrious career in the electricity generation field at home and abroad. David is the past chair of the charity and served 10 years in this post. Today David applies his keen eye for detail as he chairs the Finance and General Purposes Committee.

Dr Joanne Drew

Dr Joanne Drew joined the board of HarmonI in February 2024. Joanne has been connected to HarmonI from her childhood when her Father was the GP with responsibility for most of the clients in the Stewart Memorial School followed by the Nursing Home. Joanne took on that mantle when she became a GP in the district serving the community as a whole and especially the clients of HarmonI from 1987 to 2019. Joanne has made a significant contribution to the wider community through her work in the GP Liaison committee, helping to develop the Community Hospital based stroke rehab teams and other community initiatives in partnership with the Hospital Trust. She was a founder member and lead for the Doctors on Call service and led the management team for Bangor and Ards Community Hospitals.

Edmund McCullough

Edmund has managed Utility Street Hostel since 2012. Previously he managed homeless hostels in Downpatrick, Belfast, and South Armagh. In his life outside of work Edmund enjoys walking and he has completed the Camino Santiago trail seven times.

Hannah Irwin

Hannah joined the Board of Harmoni in 2020 having moved to Bangor the previous year from Wiltshire. Hannah is a Human Resources professional with many years' experience of managing people-related change projects for a variety of large organisations through her own consultancy business. Having previously worked for organisations providing employment support and residential care for disabled people in the UK and Australia, Hannah is passionate about creating opportunities for people facing disadvantage to achieve their potential. Hannah loves exploring the Northern Ireland coast and mountains with her family and dog and enjoys sea swimming all year round.

Liz Kerr

Liz Kerr joined the board of HarmonI in February 2024. Liz spent her career as a Pharmacist, she was Director of Pharmacy and Head of stores for Boots Ireland. Liz also has a wealth of board level experience with roles such as Chair of the Belfast One Improvement District, a Director of Belfast City Centre Management and Chair of Belfast Chamber of Commerce Membership Committee. Liz is also a Director of the Odyssey Trust since 2022. She is also president of her local conference of St Vincent De Paul a role which has allowed Liz to offer compassionate responses to people in need, a value which aligns so well with that of HarmonI.

Maurice Goodwin

Maurice has been working at Harmoni since 2014. He is the general manager for the organisation and oversees the operations of the charity at both sites in Bangor and Belfast. Maurice had a personal link with Harmoni before becoming general manager, his brother Denis was a resident of the Stuart Memorial House Nursing Home for 10 years before passing away. Maurice has 25+ years' experience working in senior management roles in various companies. In his spare time, he enjoys keeping up with sports, in particular football and golf.

Mr Paul Archer - Chairman

Mr Paul Archer joined the Board of Trustee Directors as chairman in March 2023. Paul joins us with a wealth of board chair experience in a wide range of settings. He is a former Chair of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, and he has recently completed over 9 years service as a Chair of Fitness to Practise Committee panels with the NI Social Care Council. Paul also remains a key member of the board of St Johns Ambulance service here in Northern Ireland where he chairs their Finance committee. Paul brings with him a great deal of regulatory knowledge and experience which will help ensure the governance standards here in Harmoni remain at a high quality standard. Paul aims to guide the charity into the next period of development as we seek to do more for more.

Natalie Timothy

Job Titles:
  • Research Associate
Natalie has been working as a research associate for Harmoni since November 2021. Her role involves keeping up to date with research and finding new and innovative ways to deliver our services. Before starting at Harmoni Natalie studied Health Psychology and worked in a range of settings from mental health to disability. In her spare time Natalie enjoys walking with her dogs and paddle boarding in the summer.

Paul Collins

Job Titles:

Paul has 25 years' experience of working in public affairs, advocacy, communications, fundraising, and marketing with senior roles throughout UK and Ireland. His current role is Head of Public Affairs and Advocacy for IEF and he also serves on the Senior Management Team for the charity. He has been in this post since August 2021; having previously worked as Campaign Fundraiser for the charity since February 2018. Paul has served on several voluntary sector boards over the years including HarmonI. In his spare time, he enjoys running, travelling, mountain hiking and music.

Paul McCloughlin

Paul has worked at Utility Street Hostel since 2012, however he has worked in the homeless sector since 1992, working and managing in a range of different services. In his free time, he enjoys the great outdoors and the arts.

Peter Regan

Peter Regan is an investment advisor and has spent many years in the investment field. He currently operates a medium sized independent financial management company. Peter joined the board in October 2014 and has been involved in numerous charities over the years supporting them in governance and financial subject matter expertise.

Robert Lyle

Robert Lyle joined the board of HarmonI in February 2024. Robert has joined HarmonI with over 35 years' experience in the world of advertising and media procurement. Robert has a significant experience in the field of public safety advertising and environmental advertising, raising awareness across multiple platforms among the general public in Northern Ireland, the Republic and further afield. Robert has a very personal experience of the world of supporting individuals with acquired disability and he is uniquely placed to provide insight into the services HarmonI deliver.

Sam Humphries

Sam is a mechanical production engineer by profession. He has over 15 years' experience of the charity sector and joined Harmoni in October 2015 having spent the 10 years prior to that as CEO of USEL. Sam's key theme for Harmoni is to "do more for more" and this has formed the core underpinning of the strategic direction over the past 6 years.

Shirley-Anne McFerran

Shirley-Anne joined Harmoni in 2021 as HR Manager and is responsible for the HR function of the organisation. Before joining Harmoni, Shirley-Anne worked in human resource management in a variety of business sectors and is also experienced in HR Consultancy. In her spare time, Shirley-Anne loves to go hiking in "The Mournes" with her husband, four children and two dogs!
