With 30 years of brand, marketing and fundraising experience in the commercial and for-purpose sectors, Alison Wheatley-Mahon joined the Heart Foundation in January 2017 to lead and strengthen the organisation's fundraising performance, key partnerships and engagement strategies. Alison is driven by the desire to achieve social profit success through connecting consumers with their cause that is closest to their hearts. She is passionate about growing and leading a fundraising-centric organisational culture which delivers truly sustainable long-term results for the Heart Foundation.
Alison and her husband have a busy family life with two teenage daughters and fur babies. This sees her combine her key interests - her love of marathon running, travel and shopping by participating in international marathons in major cities like London, Paris and New York.

Aroha Hudson is the Chief Executive Officer of HealthWEST Limited. She is a chartered accountant and has a Master's of Business Administration.
As well as being a member of the Heart Foundation Board, Aroha also holds other governance positions at various organisations including: Homes of Choice Ltd, Auckland PHO, Te Hononga o Tamaki me Hoturoa and Spectrum Care Ltd.
Clive Nelson joined the Heart Foundation as Chief Executive in August 2019.
An experienced leader of people, Clive brings established networks and a track record of partnership, collaboration and innovation to New Zealand's heart health charity.
Prior to joining the Heart Foundation, Clive was the Chief Executive of the government's Health Promotion Agency for seven years from its creation in 2012. He has previously held executive and general management roles in the public and private sectors, including positions with Watercare Services Limited, the Auckland Transition Agency and Fairfax New Zealand.
Clive is MBA-qualified and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors. Outside of work his interests include his family, cooking and travel.

Dave has a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition and a Post Graduate Diploma in Dietetics. He is responsible for overseeing the Foundation's food and nutrition work, including position statements and a range of partnership-related projects that support New Zealanders to have a healthier lifestyle.
A father of three, he enjoys being active, especially running, and is regularly involved in his children's sports.
Dave has a passion for keeping things real when it comes to food and nutrition and is keen on developing practical initiatives that support families to improve their heart health.

Debbie joined the Heart Foundation as the Head of Care and Support in February 2023. As an experienced leader with a strong background in the health sector, Debbie brings a high level of operational management skills to the organisation.
Most recently, holding the position of Head of Practice Operations - Health Services at ProCare, Debbie built strong relationships, trust and engagement with local providers and communities. She has also held positions at the Waitematā District Health Board, including General Manager, Surgical Services and General Manager, Medicine & Health of Older People.

A dedicated advocate for Māori health, Matire (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Rangi ki Moerewa) is an accomplished researcher and leading academic in her role as the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Auckland University.
Matire is also a primary care GP and in July 2022, she was awarded the prestigious Community Service Medal from the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners for her services to Māori hauora during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Raewyn is an experienced clinical cardiologist with a special interest in heart failure, rheumatic fever and rheumatic heart disease, coronary disease and hypertension.
She is the former Director of Cardiology at Waikato Hospital and has led the Waikato Heart Failure Service.
After 25 years at Health Waikato, she moved to new cardiology challenges working in Te Tai Tokerau and developing cardiology services across Northland where she is now based.

Faye Sumner is the former Chief Executive Officer for the Medical Technology Association of New Zealand (MTANZ), a role she held for 21 years. As CEO, she was at the forefront of negotiations with the Government in the development of proposed New Zealand medical device therapeutic regulations and the move to centralized procurement of medical devices for New Zealand.
In the 2018 Queen's Birthday Honours, Faye was appointed Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM) for her services to the medical technology sector.
Faye was a member of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Code of Business Ethics for Medical Devices Expert Working Group that developed the 2011 Kuala Lumpur Principles.
Faye was a founding Director for the Global Medical Technology Alliance (GMTA), an international body of global medical technology associations that engages with the World Health Organisation (WHO) to improve access medical devices to improve and save lives.
Faye is a Trustee of the University of Auckland, Medical & Health Sciences Foundation, and a member of the University's Te Titoki Mataroa MedTech Research Translation Board. Also, Faye is a Board member of the Government's NZ Standards Approval Board, deputy Chair of the NZ Heart Foundation and Chair of the Heart Health Trust. Faye is a Director of Pharmaco (NZ) Ltd.

Ian is a co-founder and Director of AA Smartfuel, founder and Director of Pet Depot Ltd and a trustee of the Home of Cycling Charitable Trust.

Jim Mann is a member of the Heart Foundation's Board of Directors. He is Professor of Medicine at the University of Otago and a Trustee of the Otago-Southland Diabetes Research Trust. He is Director of the Edgar Diabetes and Obesity Research Centre at the University of Otago, the ‘Healthier Lives' National Science Challenge and the New Zealand-China Non-Communicable Diseases Research Collaboration Centre.
His research has been in the fields of lipids and carbohydrates as they relate to coronary heart disease, diabetes, obesity and in developing guidelines for the treatment and prevention of these diseases.
In 2022 Jim was made a Knight Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to health.
Justine began her career as an early childhood educator, working both in New Zealand and the UK.
She subsequently graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Nutrition and has enjoyed incorporating this alongside her earlier work in the education sector in her role.
Now with her own children in school, Justine has a personal and professional passion for creating education environments which promote healthy eating and physical activity for children, young people and their whānau.

Malcolm is a director of The Heart Group Limited, Ninety Nine Investments Limited, and a Trustee of Neuroendocrine Cancer New Zealand. He has had a long association with The Heart Foundation and helped organise the Great Ride for Heart in 2010 which contributed to the establishment of the Chair in Heart Health at the University of Auckland.
Since 2014, Malcolm has been an Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Auckland. He completed his MD in 2008 on quantitative three-dimensional echocardiography. He is part of the team that introduced CT coronary angiography and percutaneous aortic valve implantation into clinical practice in Auckland.

Mark Simpson began his role as Head of Shared Services in 2020, after serving as Chief Financial Officer since 2016. With a commercial finance background spanning more than 30 years - including KPMG, Banking and Finance, Human Resources and IT company EROAD - Mark enjoys new challenges and has found the move to a social profit organisation exciting. He particularly enjoys making a difference and adding value.
He and his wife have two daughters, both now in their 20s. Travel and sport are his passion.

Mike Tomlinson is Chairman of the Heart Foundation's Board and a member of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee. He is currently a director of the Appliance Network Society, Vintage Harvest Holdings (Acacia Cove Retirement Village), Structurflex Ltd and Food First Ltd.
Mike was a partner in Ernst and Young for 30 years and served a wide range of clients during this time. Currently, he is a director of a number of companies as well as maintaining an accounting and advisory practice.

Phillipa has held senior marketing, brand and communications leadership positions across a range of service industries in the UK and New Zealand.
Phillipa brings a proven track record of developing impactful campaigns and content that effectively reach and resonate with diverse audiences. Phillipa is dedicated to supporting the Heart Foundation's purpose through effective marketing and communication strategies, with a strong focus on aligning initiatives to meet consumer needs and expectations.
When she has time, you'll find Phillipa and her partner playing golf, fishing, or swimming at the beach with their young son.
Associate Professor Sir Collin Tukuitonga is a public health medicine specialist with extensive experience in public policy, research and public health in New Zealand, the Pacific region and internationally. He was the Director General of the Pacific Community based in New Caledonia for seven years until December 2019.
Alongside his role at the Heart Foundation, Sir Collin is the government appointee to the NZ Health Quality & Safety Commission board and a member of the NZ College of Public Health Medicine Council.
He's a Niuean New Zealander and a strong advocate for improving health and wellbeing of Pacific people.
Steve Anderson brings extensive governance experience to the Heart Foundation Board of Directors. He is currently Director of AWPT Limited and Beacon Point Consulting Limited. He was previously MD of Foodstuffs New Zealand, CEO of Foodstuffs South Island and General Manager of Sales at Mainland Products.
Steve also has a wealth of international business administration experience as a result of his roles with Shell Chemicals in both New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Wayne Fletcher has extensive governance experience from both New Zealand and overseas companies. He is currently Director of AMACO Professional Services Ltd and Chair of the Finance, Risk and Audit Committee at the Heart Foundation. He was the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director at Bauer Media Group.
Wayne also held Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director positions at British multinational advertising and public relations company, WPP, for a number of years as well as Alzheimer's NZ.
Wayne brings a wealth of financial management, digital and information technology experience to the Heart Foundation Board.
