Amie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 14 years of experience, in helping adults, adolescents, and families navigate their way through addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss. She has been sought out for her skill in assisting pre-college, college-aged, and young adults to reach academic and career life transition decisions. In addition, with her personal and professional experience with addiction, she has a keen interest and unique skill in counseling people who struggle with alcohol, food addiction, and bulimia by utilizing a combination of education, orientation to the 12-step programs and experiential therapies that help the individual to come to a place of acceptance. She has also been especially gifted in her ability to help individuals facing grief related to sudden and traumatic loss. Jan's leadership and coaching are guided by over four decades of experience in helping people to become more aware and move beyond their roadblocks to become their best selves. She believes a therapist must be committed to their own growth and development, always pursuing new knowledge and self-awareness and sharing that learning with others. Clients who meet Jan feel comfortable and are impressed with her ability to really listen to them, see and understand them. As a result she is able to assist them to more honestly, compassionately and clearly see themselves and move toward their personal and professional goals. Her style is empathic, direct, educational, and goal oriented. Women appreciate her ability to deeply listen to them. While men appreciate her ability to get to the point and not pull punches. She brings wisdom, skill development, fairness and hope to the couples she coaches. Humor and stories and in-session experiences are her stock and trade. Jan has worked in an in-patient and out-patient addiction setting prior to building her private practice. In addition to her extensive addiction training, she has achieved her greatest goals by following a growth work model which orients towards human potential. Partners In Recovery was built upon both addiction and growth work principles. She has also incorporated Adlerian, Client-Centered, Existential, Experiential, Cognitive Behavioral, and Family Systems Theory. Her couples work is heavily influenced by the Wright Institute Couples Model, Hendrix Imago, and Gottman Therapies. She has extensive training in Trauma Therapy, utilizing EMDR, EFT, Breathwork/Bodywork, Mindfulness, and Storytelling. She is a grateful cancer survivor who has the ability to marry professional and personal experience to empower cancer patients to navigate treatment medically and emotionally, help survivors to process and heal physically and spiritually and assist family members in their process.

If there's a better, more streamlined, efficient, organized way of doing things, Jess has found it and executed it. She has supported bringing telecommunications to our business, allowing us to provide out-of-town lecturers for our client groups. Her technological knowledge, office organization and efficiency are matched by her kindness, consistent caring, communication, responsiveness, availability, and dedication to her own learning and growing.
